Edit for Nathaniel (not mine) 🔝

Evelyn's office was her own personal paradise. Scattered around were pens , paints and paper of all colours. Each corner was filled with unfinished and completed painting along with a few empty canvases resting peacefully on easels. In the middle sat her desk with writing equipment perched at the top. Books littered each corner of the room, some on shelves and some just scattered on the floor.

Pushing herself off the door she made her way over to her desk before taking a seat in the chair. Shuffling around with paper and pens, Evelyn prepared myself.

Unfortunately today She had too much work for pleasure writing. She had to write a speech for some stupid meeting the king had.

Reading over the brief she was given evelyn frowned noticing what exactly she was going to write.

The King wants to sway the council to consider being a non magic leader of any sort to be a crime.

"Ridiculous." She mutter under her breath.

magic and non magic are two polar opposites, there is no denying it. However the rivalry really was getting out of hand.

It's people like the king who thing certain beings are higher and much more worthily that others and unfortunately human non magic beings are at the bottom of that particular food chain.

Unable to start writing Evelyn decided to question the king on this. With a sigh She pushed herself up and headed for the school entrance so she could get a ride to the palace.

Unfortunately for Evelyn, sat on a picnic bench at the entrance were Adeline, Zana and Sirona happily eating lunch.  Noticing her Adeline smiled and beckoned over with her hands.

Knowing they wouldn't let her leave that easily Evelyn smiled back and made her way towards them.

"Hi Evie ! Haven't seen you in school for ages come sit." Adeline insisted despite Evelyn's unsure glances between the three of them.

Begrudgingly she took a seat on the circular picnic table.

"Where are the boys?" She asked as normally we would all sit together.

"They're off playing with this new contraption Janak made." Zana sighed as she spoke."I don't think they're ever going to grow up."

"I hope they don't." Evelyn commented making Zana look up curious. " I mean, Nathaniel grew up and he's a pain in the ass now." They laughed although She was dead serious.

"I think it's great that they still hold on to their passions" Sirona giggled into her salad which I noticed looked a little odd. "There's  a sexy sort of element to it, don't cha think?"

"What are you eating Sirona?" Zana pressed She had obviously been wondering this for a while. Sirona only smiled and shook her head before poking at what looked be a green slime.

"It's extracted from this magical plant that i honestly can't remember the name of ." She announced in a voice almost pride. " Ir makes you lose like a pound in a week." She finished popping the disgusting looking substance in her mouth.

"How do they let you tend to the sick?" Zana mumbled rolling her eyes.

Ignoring their squabble Adeline looked over in my direction before asking.

"Are you looking forward to Nathan coming home?" Adaline asked. Evelyn wincing at the question everyone has been asking lately, noticed the other two also listening intently.
