All young and old Octavus' stood in the dining room awaiting the king so they could make their way outside in time to see Nathaniel arrive.

Evelyn was definitely not feeling up to even being out of bed and everyone knew it. She could hardly stand without the help of Cayden or Sirona. At least every five minutes she would feel her eyes droop before making herself alert again.

No one brought it up though. They knew how she reacted when others would point out her weakness.

"How long? We've been here forever." Janak moaned only for Zana to nudge him and whisper something about keeping his mouth shut in front of certain people.

The old octavus' stood tall and stoic as they observed the younger ones who would soon take there place. It was no secret how certain Octavus' resented their future successors.

Certain Octavus' like Jakob White, the intellectual, the Captiosus. While the rest accepted the younger versions of themselves, Sir White Looked at Zana Alderton with disgust and resentment.

"Mr Fortem! Watch your mouth." Mr White snapped to an unsuspecting Janak.

"What? I didn't ev-" Janak started only for Zana to stop him.

"He meant no disrespect Sir." She announced which seemed to only infuriate the Captiosus further.

"Are you calling me a lier miss Alderton?" Standing up Zana was about to correct him but Evelyn beat her to it.

"Just-shut-up!!" She demanded with a roll of her eyes casing people to gasp. "No one cares about your bruised ego Mr White." She mocked.

Before anyone had anything further to add the door swung open revealing King Rufus and his wife Queen Regina (the Beltor) at his side with her arm linked with his. Everyone but Lyba rose from their seats and bowed. This act of disrespect did not go unnoticed by the king but he bit his tongue and didn't comment.

"It's time." He spoke in a calm voice. "My son and your future King will be arriving shortly."

At this they left the room with the oldest Octavus' leading first. The king led them towards the front of the castle to the organised chaos ahead.

Flashing lights beamed from cameras as reporters behind a red ribbon tried to get the best picture. The crowd was full of the kingdoms residents who had come to see the future king arrive home from his first business trip. The band and quire played music composed and taught by Lerin.

But the bang of the drums and the flash from the camera seemed too much for the ill Evelyn . Her head felt heavy and the noise pierced right through her head. Before she collapsed, however, Cayden caught her, supporting her limp body with his own.

Her eyes drooped and she was too tired to protest help.

"Thanks." She mumbled withought meeting his eyes.

"Anytime." He smiled down at her even if she wasn't looking.

The crowd seemed to notice something as the excitement in their eyes burned brighter and the cameras began to flash in a different direction and the band quieted down.

The royal's Bentley State Limousine shon clean and black as it approached, Evelyn felt her stomach tighten.

Nathaniel was never an easy person to deal with. He was often cold, ruthless and arrogant. But the thing that scared Evelyn most was that he always got what he wanted at whatever cost.

Before she could compose herself the vehicle had stopped right in front of where they stood in front of the castle.

The Rex had arrived.
