My heart started pounding. I felt both scared and excited. "What could he possibly want? It's been like years!" I quickly put my thumb on the home button to unlock my phone. I tap my message from Marco and reply.

Me: So now you want to talk?
Marco: Look I'm sorry. It's been 4 years I know. Believe me when I say that I've missed you. Please I just want to talk. At least tell me how your summer has been?
Me: It was ok. Even though you've missed like 4 summers, it's been cool. I just ride my skateboard, hang with friends and family.
Marco: Wow. The way you put it, I feel bad. Can I take you somewhere? Just you and me? I want to hang with the coolest girl I know 😉😎
Me: Oh ok I see. Well in that case where do you plan on meeting?
Marco: The park. 1:30?
Me: Sounds good! Can't wait Marco!
Marco: I'll be bringing Janna. Star isn't home right now and Janna won't stop bugging me. She took my keys like always and said she would give them back if I took her with me. Sorry.
Me:Haha typical Janna. Can't wait Marco!

I go to my room to shower. I finish up my shower after 15 minutes. I quickly dry up, brush my hair, put it in a messy bun and pick out my outfit. What should I even wear? Is it a date? A hangout? A get together? Oh well I'll just go casual. After about 20 minutes of deciding, I finally pick out my outfit. A pineapple crop top with light blue jean shorts and sea green checkerboard slip on vans. And to top off my look I wear my sea shell necklace. Over the summer I grew out my hair so now it reaches my back. I decide to tease Marco by showing him that he's been gone so long that even my hair grew! Ha, classic me.  I hear a knock on the door. Dashing to the door, I look at my hand mirror for any  error but turns out, I'm all good. I unlock the door to see Marco and Janna. Without saying hello, Janna walks right past me as I stop her by grabbing her beanie. "Hey can I please have my beanie back!" She tries to grab from my reach but fails. "You can have it when you say hello dummy!" Janna rolls her eyes and grins. She reach out her arms and hugs me lazily. "Sorry Jackie, I was gonna say hello once I finished my solo match on Fortnite." I slightly chuckle by her remark. Janna has always been childish but still my bestie. "Ok whatever Ordonia!" "Hey that's my thing to call people by thier last names!" Janna grabs her beanie and throws herself on my couch. I turn back to the door to face Marco. "Umm...hey Marco." "H-hi Jackie. It's been awhile..." Marco reaches out for a side hug, but in return I give him a full on bear hug. "I missed you." He gently pats my back. He checks out my outfit. "Wow...you look amazing. And when I mean amazing you look so cool. Just like you." He smiles back at me and releases from the hug. "So you ready for today to begin?" "Heck yeah I am!" Let's roll! "NOW WAIT A MINUTE!" Janna hollered from the couch which caused me and Marco to jump. "Janna what's wrong?" Janna stands and walks towards Marco. "You see, I asked Marco here that before we went anywhere that he'd get me some food. And do I see any food? No. I don't see any. So I'm afraid Marco isn't going anywhere until he does so." Marco face palms. "Pff. Whatever I told you no. No means no." Marco starts walking out the door when Janna bites Marco's arm. "AHHHHHHH OWW!" Marco yanks his arm from Janna to reveal deep bite marks from her sharp teeth. "Janna what the heck is your problem?!" "Oh there's not a problem yet." She begins to roll up her sleeve, ready to fist Marco in the gut when I put a stop between the two. "Both of you guys need to stop! There's no need to bite and shout! Janna I will get you something to eat from McDonald's. Anything you'd like. How does that sound?" Janna brightens up with delight. "Say no more, let's jump in the car!" Janna rushed out the door and opens the door to Marco's Mustang GT. "How did you even open that?" "I still have your keys stupid!" Janna dangles Marco's keys in the air. "Oh geez." Marco turns to me. "If she gets out of control I can drive her home and we can go some other day." I rest a hand on Marco's shoulder. "Marco it's fine. She is always angry when she's hungry. I know her." "Yeah no kidding." We both laugh. Marco starts smiling at me which caused me to smile. He opens his mouth to speak but gets interrupted by a honk. We both look to see Janna mouthing to Marco "Hurry up!" "There's our signal." Marco walks to the passenger seat to find Janna leaning back and fidgeting with the steering wheel. "Look at me I'm Marco and I barely drove when I was 18!" Only because my mommy thought I would crash! "That's not true. Get out Janna!" I locked my door and head out. Before I leave I lift up the door mat and put the house key under it for my parents when they come home from work. I notice Marco and Janna play fighting in the passenger seat. "Get out Janna! You idiot!" Marco shoved Janna to the back seat. Janna retorts by kicking Marco causing him to fall back. "Dang it Janna!" She playfully laughs at Marco. He turns to face me and blushes red. "Umm.. sorry it's not what it looks like..." I giggled a bit. "That's my Janna." I lend a hand to Marco and we both get in the car. "Alright to McDonald's first, then the park." Marco turns on the car, and reverses out from my house and drives out of the neighborhood. "So Jackie what have you been up to?" Marco nervously asks. "Oh nothing much. I recently applied for a skating instructor." "Wow that sounds really cool. When do you get approved?" "I believe next Saturday. I still need to be in training though for at least 4 years." "What!" 4 years! Marco scratches his head. "But you are like the best skater I know. They should've lowered your training to at least 2 years." "Well thank you for the compliment, but just because I skated since I was 4, doesn't mean I'm ready. I also have to train on how to supervise younger kids, teach them balance, coordination, and focus." "Oh. Hehe....I guess you're right." Marco face palms and turns bright red. I guess he was embarrassed. "But thank you for that compliment once again. It means a lot." Janna pops her head up from her phone. A jealous look displays. "Yeah well I applied for a job too!" "I turn to face her. "Oh yeah? What job?" "Ummm... nevermind I was just playing. I wanted to be in the mix ya know." I briefly laugh at Janna. Although I want to know how she's been. "So Janna, what have you been up to?" "Oh you know the usual. I hang with friends, I still am a troublemaker and I still do pranks. Nothing much has changed." "You live with your parents?" "Well yeah. They provide for me. I have been begging my mom to let me buy my own house but she says I'm "too childish" to understand the basics. Talking about "I'm too young" and "reckless". Please, I'm a grown woman. But come to think about it, my parents still buy me stuff so I'll just live with it." Marco looks at the mirror to see Janna not wearing a seatbelt. "Janna. If I'm taking you to McDonald's, put your seat belt on!" Janna groans. "Ughh. You're starting to sound like my dad." She pulls out the seat belt and buckled herself. She sticks her tongue out at Marco. He rolls his eyes and focused on the road. "Ok, we have about 30 minutes before we get there." Now wouldn't be a good time to talk to Marco so I plug in my earbuds and listen to my Spotify playlist.
