When Two Souls Collide {Sans x Reader}

{Chapter 13}

It's been a few days since the sleepover and you haven't seen Undyne lately. When you knocked on her door, she didn't answer, it was like nobody was even there. She didn't answer her phone. Where was she? You were walking around Waterfall when you stopped to listen to an echo flower. "Are you ready to die, fish lady?" You recognize the voice. 'Chara' "Hah! Like you even could- ARRRGH!" You recognize this one too. 'Undyne' You hear her turn to dust. "I know you'll hear this (Y/N). And I'm not stopping until you love me." Chara's echo says. Undyne... no... she can't be...

You run back to Snowdin crying. "Hey, Buttercup, what's wrong?" Sans asks. You just run to him and cry into his shoulder. "U-Undyne s-she..." Sans' eyesockets go blank. "What did she do?" "N-No... not h-her... C-Chara..." Sans' eyesockets get even darker (is that even possible?). "W h a t h a p p e n e d ?" Sans asked in a dangerously low octave. "H-He k-killed U-Undyne..." Sans' left eye flares to life. "N-No... n-not again..." Not again? What did he mean...? "What d-do you mean 'Not again?'" "T-The resets... not all of them were good" Sans' eyesockets go back to normal. "I-In some timelines, Chara took over Frisk a-and killed everybody. E-Even Papyrus." Sans started crying, florescent blue tears rolling down his face. You didn't like seeing him like this. You wiped his tears gently with your thumb and cupped his cheek.

"Hey, don't worry Sans, it'll be okay. I'll make sure they don't get Papy." You said softly. Sans stopped crying and looked at you. "But how can you promise that?" He asks. "I-I..." You can't promise that. "You can't. I knew it." Sans says. He walks into his house. You were going to save them, whatever it takes.

~Timeskip a few days~

You sat in Snowdin Forest, humming to yourself. You decided to call Toriel. Ring... Ring... But nobody came. No... not Toriel. Over the past few days, you've tried to save as many as possible. However, you couldn't save everyone. Alphys, Mettaton, Toriel, they all died. You tried your hardest, but you just couldn't save them. You hear a voice in the distance. (I don't know the real dialogue) "HUMAN. I'M GOING TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST WITH YOU, YOU'RE VERY STRANGE. THEY WAY YOU SHAMBLE FROM PLACE TO PLACE, WITH YOUR DUST COVERED HANDS. YOU'RE COMPLETELY EMOTIONLESS. BUT I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WANT TO HELP YOU." No! Papyrus! "ARE YOU OFFERING A HUG OF ACCEPTANCE?" You get to where he is, but as you do... "PAPYRUS! LOOK OUT!" You scream. But it's too late. Chara's already delivered the fatal blow. "WELL, THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. WORRY NOT HUMAN! THE GREAT PAPYRUS STILL BELIEVES IN YOU." Papyrus says before Chara crushes Papyrus' skull with his boot. The only thing left of Papyrus is his scarf. "Tch. Classic Papyrus. When will he see? I'll never change, not until (Y/N) loves me." He says, before continuing on. You pick up Papyrus' scarf, your eyes turn (F/C). You wrap the scarf around your neck. It blows in the wind. "That is the last straw." You say coldly. You follow after Chara, slaking them from the shadows.

~Timeskip an hour or so~

Chara makes his way to Judgement Hall. You see Sans. He's the last one left other than you and Chara. He already got to Asgore and Flowey. "Hello there, comedian. I've killed them all, except, of course, my precious (Y/N). And I know she's here, so I'm going to have some fun with this kill." Chara says, knife glinting in the false light. "Time for your judgment kid, and guess what? You're guilty." Sans says, left eye flaring to life. You step in between them. "NO!" They look at you, surprised. "Chara, you said you'd stop when I love you, right?" Chara nods. "Well Chara, I've got something to say to you." You say, before turning to Sans giving him an 'I'm so sorry' look. "I love you, Chara." You walk over to him, caressing his cheek. Chara's eyes got darker. "You're lying to me," He says. Your eyes turn (F/C) and you take his knife. "You're right, how could I ever love somebody like you." You say coldly. You strike Chara with the knife, but it doesn't kill him.

"Really, you thought you could kill me (Y/N)?" He says. He picks you up by your collar and throws you to the side, taking his knife back. "Now, where were we, comedian?" Chara and Sans enter a battle. You watch in horror as the two fight, for hours on end. Until Chara finally strikes Sans. Chara continues slashing him until he turns to dust. Your run to the spot. You pick up his jacket, crying into it. Your eyes turn (F/C), you put on Sans' jacket. "Oh, come on (Y/N), don't be like that," Chara says. He cups your cheek. You slap him across the face. Chara's eyes go black. "(Y/N), you dare hurt me?" Chara asks. "Chara, you're the true monster down here. If anyone should be trapped here, it's you." You spat at him. In a fit of anger, Chara pounces onto you. He holds his knife at your neck. "Well, this is the final timeline, since you can't reset. They're all gone. Try if you might, but I've won." Chara says, before slitting your throat.

You open your eyes, the scene before you scares you. Chara's cleaning the blood off of his knife, a few feet away is your dead body. You see two buttons in front of you, one glows yellow, whilst the other stays dark and looks like it's on the verge of breaking. The two buttons say 'CONTINUE', which is the glowing one, and 'RESET', which is the one that looks like it's going to break. If you RESET, you save everyone, but you die. If you CONTINUE, you'll have to live with Chara. You press RESET.

You feel a falling sensation once more as you make your descent.
