There was one thing that Sans didn't know about you. You were a very sore loser. You planned to get back at him, somehow. Then, you got your bright idea. You walked to Sans' sentry post in Snowdin. You saw all the empty ketchup bottles, you picked one up. You smiled sinisterly, this was going to be fun.
A few minutes later, and your trap is set, more or less. You filled the bottle with mustard and had planned to give it to Sans in a minute. Speak of the devil, here he comes. You smiled to yourself and pulled on your acting. "Hey Sans!" "Hey Buttercup, what is it?" He asked. "Well, I know how much you love ketchup, so I got you some! We ran out at home and I knew that you wouldn't want to go to Grillby's to get more." You said. "Heh, that you're right (Y/N)." He said. You handed him the bottle. You watched as he took a sip.
He spits it out and wiped his mouth. "WHAT THE HELL?!" You couldn't help it, you burst out in laughter. He looks at you, clearly annoyed. "Ha-ha, very funny (Y/N)." He said, slowly clapping. "Get dunked o-" You were cut off as Sans lifted you into the air. His left eye glowed blue. "Oh, so you think that this is funny, huh? Well, just so you know," He pauses, and pulls out a knotted rope from his pocket, "it's knot." He finishes, snickering. You start pouting. "SANS! Really?!" You say in a whiny child-like voice. He starts laughing. "I'm sorry Buttercup, I couldn't resist." He says.
You two laugh and enjoy each other's company for a while. Suddenly, you remember Toriel. "Hey, Sans, I've gotta go." You say, turning around and running towards the ruins. You get to the large door and swing it open. Speeding upstairs, you see Toriel crying softly.
"T-Toriel?" You ask. She looks up, surprised. "My child?" She asks, tears slowly falling down her face. You smile and nod. Toriel stands up and hugs you, you hug back. You two stayed like this for quite some time. But then, suddenly, Toriel became stern and cold.
"Don't you ever do that again! I should have destroyed that door a long time ago." She says. "No! Please!" You say, begging. "I'm sorry, my child. But, I have to do this, for your own good." Toriel says, making her way down the stairs. She blocks your way with a wall of flames. "Toriel please!"
You hear her footsteps echoing through the corridor, they stop. You hear quiet voices talking to one another. Eventually, the footsteps retreat. Toriel comes back upstairs and gets rid of the wall of flames. She picks you up and places you in your room, you hear her lock the door.
You don't know what to do. You're confused. Why would Toriel do this? Her motives were unclear, but you knew you had to get out of there. Testing every little area for a weak spot, you grew tired. You lie down and fall asleep.
You wake up, remembering what happened. The door was padlocked from the outside, so that's a no. No secret passages, it seemed hopeless. You tried to stay DETERMINED but to no avail.
~A few days later~
You hear voices, not just Toriel this time. There's another. The two talk back and forth as if in an argument. They were right in front of your door. The padlock was rattled. More yelling. The voices stop. You hear crying. The padlock falls to the floor, the door swings open.
Sans is revealed as the second voice. 'They were arguing... over me?' He runs to you and hugs you tightly. "Buttercup, you're alright! I thought that flower got to you..." You see Toriel in the doorway. She's in tears.
"M-My child, I'm s-so sorry. I j-just didn't want t-to lose another child..." She says between sobs. "It's okay goat mom, you won't lose me." You say calmly. Sans lets go of you, stepping aside. You unto Toriel and flip your arms around her. "It's okay, I'm not like the others." You say. Toriel smiles sadly. "I know. You're so, so much different. I believe in you." You are filled with DETERMINATION.
~End of chapter 15~
