Homecoming week

So she really wanted you to transfer schools?" Chris asked.

"Yeah, and she even said not to come for thanksgiving." I rolled my eyes and continued to type up my essay on my laptop.

"Dang, you gon go anyway right?"

"Yeah I talked to my dad after she left. He told me to ignore her and do what I want."

"Your mom is mean, she looked at my hand like I had a disease last night." He said pouting.

"She is..."

"So you ready for tonight?"

"What exactly are we doing?" He shrugged and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"It's a surprise. You'll like it." I nodded and focused on my essay as he smacked on his gum.

"Can you stop smacking?"

"Why?"

"I need to concentrate, Chris. Then you right in my ear." I complained.

"Shut up you smack all the time, you eat like a damn horse."

"Whatever, I'm going back to my dorm." He smacked his teeth as I got up from his bed.

"Why, cause a nigga smacking?"

"No because it's 7:36 and I have to go get ready. Duh."

"Get ready for what? We just going to the lake."

"I have to shower and do some other stuff. So I'll be seeing you in an hour." I put my stuff in my book bag and slipped my slides on.

"Aight." He pulled me into a hug and kissed my forehead.

"I'll see you then...love you."

"Love you too." I walked out his room and went downstairs to see Q playing fortnite with Leon.

"Ay, how you think he gon do it?" She heard Leon ask.

"Shit, I don't know. Hope he don't hurt her feelings though."

"She dumb as fuck. I don't know how many hints I done sent her and she still clueless." Leon laughed.

"That don't mean anything. You dumb as fuck for even proposing the bet, $50...really?"

"Ay, it's a good headband. Besides, I'm sure he isn't gonna tell her it was a bet all along. He said he was gonna do some tired ass excuse." He shrugged.

"Chris ain't shit....neither is you." Leon shrugged and continued to play the game.

Wow....this whole time, he been fucking playing with me? I was a fucking bet?

Kiera and Layla literally tried to tell my dumb ass and I ignored them both. How could I be so stupid?

I'm literally no different from any of the other girls he's been with, why would he just automatically settle down just for me? I should've knew some dumb shit was up!

Then I told this nigga about my past and he still wants to fucking play with my heart. OVER A $50 HEADBAND. Is that all I'm worth?

Man, fuck him. Fuck niggas in general, I'm so tired of the bullshit.
.................

I arrived at Lake Galen a little earlier than planned to plan what I'd say to Chris. Of corse I wasn't gonna be here for long cause I want to keep it simple and just leave.

He won't care, the truth will be out and he won't have to worry about playing this little game anymore.

"Why are you here early?" I heard Chris ask.

"Because I wanted to be...why are you here early?" He shrugged and sat the basket down.

"I was gonna set up a little dinner down here before you came but...you're here now."

"Hm...was that part of the bet?" He held a confused look on his face which infuriated me even more.

"What're talking about? What bet?"

"Cut the bullshit. I know about the $50 headband, the one you lied to me about." He sighed before running his hand over his waves.

"Camryn it was just a simple game, we was just playing—"

"Me? Yeah I know."

"Who told you about the bet? Was it Leon?"

"It doesn't matter." I shrugged and walked past him.

"Where are you going?"

"Home."

"Why you tripping? It was just a bet, you actin like I cheated on you, gettin all butt hurt." He spat.

"Okay, so how bout you let someone run a fucking game on you for $50. But you know what, I can't get mad at you because I should've knew your fuck boy nature wouldn't change. Playing girls from left to right and I was one of them."

"I didn't play you—"

"Yes you did, dumbass."

"How? Since you wanna be over dramatic and trip over $50–"

"You told me you loved me." I said making him sigh.

"You had me believe for a second that you loved me. I told you about my past and how I felt about it. I told you about my abandonment issues and yet you still do this shit? Bitch that's not love but you don't care cause you got yo headband right?"

"You making a big deal out of nothing. It was just a bet." I shrugged and began to walk away.

"So that's it? You just gon walk away?" I ignored and sped walked to my car when I heard his footsteps approach me.

"I'm sorry—"

"I don't wanna hear it Chris. Just lose my phone number." I opened my door and got in but he held the door open.

"I wouldn't say I love you if I didn't mean it."

"Biggest lie I've ever heard."

"What you want me to do Cam? Hm? I don't wanna lose what we got." He said.

"You can't lose something you never had. That little girlfriend and boyfriend thing we did was not real. It was a fucking game."

"You know I'm not letting this go right?"

"Fuck you." I started the car and drove off. My door slammed shut as I dialed Layla's phone.

Tears threatened to leave my eyes but I blinked them away. I shouldn't cry over him. I should've never let him in and tell him about my pass either. That boy was probably clowning me behind my back to Leon and Q.

Man, fuck these niggas.
