Camryn...

With my duffel bag over my shoulder, I headed to my car to go to the gym. I've never tried to work out, but I heard it takes your mind off a lot of things and lately, I've had a lot of things on my mind. I know it won't be easy, but I need something to take my mind off of everything.

Once I got to our gym, I didn't see anyone in there and the door was unlocked.

"Guess I'll get started..." I mumbled sitting my duffel bag down. I got on the treadmill and began to walk as my music blasted through my ears.

Not even 5 minutes on the treadmill and someone tapped my shoulder.

I turned and saw it was Chris.

"What?" I asked.

"Damn that's how we greetin each other now?"

"Is there a reason why you tapped me?"

"I just noticed that you was in here and came to talk. I didn't know you worked out." He said.

"I heard it keeps your mind off a lot of things." I said starting to turn up the music on my phone.

I felt a tap on my shoulder once again and completely stopped the treadmill.

"Yes Chris?"

"I wanna talk." I shrugged.

"Talk."

"Come sit with me." I got off the treadmill and sat with him in the chairs.

I sat two chairs from him just to be childish and grabbed my bag.

"Really? It's like that? Just sit next to me."

"No. What'd you want to talk about?" I asked.

"Us."

"What is this "us" you speak of? Never heard of it." I shrugged.

"Stop being childish and listen. Look, I know I've done some foul things to you and I apologise for that. But you cut me off completely, and I'm not cool with that."

"Wanna know what I'm not cool with?" I got up and sat next to him so he could see what I was about to show him on my phone.

"I'm not cool with dudes around this school knowing what my titties look like. I'm not cool with getting Dm's from dudes about my "hoe ass" and I'm not cool with getting dirty looks from everyone I pass. Did you know that Layla won't even talk to me now?" I felt a lump in my throat as he shifted in his seat.

"She doesn't even want to be seen with me, because of you!" I said as my vision blurred along with the burning sensation on my nose.

"I'm sorry--"

"Sorry doesn't take back the things you did...or what you said in that caption."

"What do you want me to do?"

"I want you to leave me alone."

"You know I can't do that." He said causing me to roll my eyes.

"Listen to what I have to say."

"No, you're just gonna say the same shit you say all the time. I don't wanna hear it."

He began to talk but I wasn't trying to here anything he was saying.

"Are you listening?" I shook my head no and tried to snatch my arm away.

"Don't you have a girlfriend to worry about?" I asked.

"She's not my girlfriend. You've always been mines, even when you "broke up" with me."

"Funniest thing I've heard all day."

"Camryn I'm serious...can you just please give me another chance? You see how hard I'm trying to get you back." He said with pleading eyes.

"Do you have any other pictures of me in your phone?"

"I got hundreds, fuck you talkin' bout?" I chuckled and shrugged.

"Are they dirty?"

"That was the only one I had."

"Are you lying to me?" He shook his head no and grabbed my hand, caressing the back of it with his thumb.

"Don't make me regret this decision."

"You won't, I promise." He kissed my hand.

"This isn't a bet right?"

"It's not."

"Can I trust you?" I asked. He nodded looking me straight in the eye.

"Okay..." I shrugged and opened my arms to embrace him in a hug. He stared at me weirdly.

"I can't get a hug?"

"Oh! Girl you better use yo words next time." He said before giving me a squeeze and letting out a sigh.

"I missed you.....a lot." He said pulling back a little to look at me.

"I know." He grabbed my chin and pressed his lips against mine.

"Now let's talk about this hair..." I said referring to his braids.

"Let's not, it's ugly. That's why I wrapped the bandana around it."

"It's not ugly, I like it...who did it?"

"I did it last night. My shit was getting hella long." I nodded and stood up to get my duffel bag, only to be sat down on his lap.

"I'm serious about not messing this up." He said letting his hands travel to my waist.

"I hope you are. I don't have time for games, Chris."

"I know and I promise I won't play any games for here on out."

"Promise?" He nodded.

"Well--"

My Apple watch alarm went off, telling me that I had an appointment to attend to. I totally forgot about that.

"I have to go." I stood and grabbed my duffel bag.

"Call me later?" He asked.

"Yeah, I will." He pulled me into a hug and pecked my lips before letting go.

It's ironic how I literally thought I hated him and not even a month and a half later, we're back together.

Funny how relationships work.
