Camryn~
I froze as his lips moved against mine.
My mind was telling me to get up and get out. I knew what this boy was capable of, but I didn't come to my senses until I finally gained the courage to pull away.
"I gotta go." I mumbled standing.
"No, sit back down. Don't trip off a kiss."
I knew what he did to girls. I knew how he treated them and by sitting back down, I felt like I was becoming one of them.
"Sorry, I guess I was caught up in the moment." He said.
"It's fine."
The old lady came back with our food and walked off after we thanked her.
"You made everything awkward." I said.
"How? It was just a kiss." I looked at him and scoffed.
"iT wAs jUsT a kIsS. I know what it was but...why?"
"It's not that big of a deal." He shrugged.
"Of course."
"Chill out, I just told you I was caught up in the moment. You acting like it's the end of the world, whatchu you worried for?"
"I'm worried that I'm gonna end up like the other girls you been with." I mumbled.
"C'mon now, you my homie. I wouldn't do you like that."
"If you say so."
We fell to a comfortable silence for a minute until he had to ruin it.
"Don't act like you didn't like it." He said.
"Like what?"
"You know what I'm talking about." He smirked and took a bite out of his pizza.
"Why would it matter to you?" He shrugged.
I continued to eat my pizza until I heard shots go off and a lady scream.
"Everybody get on the ground now!" A man in a ski mask yelled.
Of course I complied but I couldn't help but think why someone would rob a pizza parlor.
"You okay?" Chris asked as he pushed me behind him.
I nodded as the man yelled at the cashier to put the money in the bag.
"Lady, if you don't hurry yo slow ass up, I'mma blow yo brains out!"
"Chill man, she's an elderly." Chris spoke up.
"Shut yo light bright ass up before I put a bullet in ya."
"I'm just saying, you ain't gotta talk to her like that." He responded.
"Chris chill." I whispered.
"Better listen to yo girl mane, didn't I tell you to hurry up?" He said turning back to the elderly woman.
Chris slowly got up—ignoring my pleas to stop—then quickly snatched the gun from the robber's waist and aimed to towards him.
"You ain't gonna shoot me. Give me back the gun before I take it from ya." The robber warned.
"I'll shoot if you don't leave. Try me." He teased the trigger with his finger as the man stared him down. I sat in silence debating on if I should call the cops or not.
"Young man, put the gun down. You don't want me to take it from you cause if I do, I'mma shoot you."
"Camryn call the cops." Chris said and I obeyed.
