The next couple of hours consist of Hoseok and I enjoying a couple of beers together and laughing at the maknae line interacting with the girls. I learn that he and Yuka had a fling during their early trainee days, she would teach him Japanese while he'd help her practice Korean. It's cute the way he talks about her, as if she's the only girl he's ever laid eyes on.
Dinner is quickly served and the remaining girls go on their way to get ready and have a few drinks at a bar nearby before the concert starts up. By the time everyone finished eating and has gotten through hair and makeup, I've also finished my routine vitals checks for all of the members except Seokjin.
I walk backstage in search of the last of the boys, only to find him sitting on the floor with his legs tucked into his chest and his face buried in his arms. "Jin oppa?"
His head snaps up as soon as he hears me, and he forces a smile. "Jungsoon, is it my turn already?"
"What are you doing over here all alone?" I ask while sitting down on the floor in front of him.
"I get nervous when we leave Korea," he says softly. "My English is terrible, and the fans don't like me as much as the other members. I've tried so hard to be as good as them, but I'll never be as cute as Taehyung or as funny as Hoseok. I feel exposed out here..."
He flushes red as soon as he stops talking and looks at me in shock. "I can't believe I just told you all of that. The only other people who know about these things are my members."
"I'm glad you did." I place my hand on his arm and smile. "But you shouldn't compare yourself to the other guys. You each bring something to the group that the others can't.
"I'm supposed to be the strong one that cares for everyone. I can't be insecure—"
"Oppa," I cut him off with a hug. "You don't have to be Jin from BTS all the time. Just be Seokjin right now and let yourself be a normal person with flaws and insecurities, just like Taehyung and Hoseok and all of the others are. I know you feel like you have to be perfect as an idol, but allow yourself to be okay with who you are off-stage. I don't know about Jin from BTS, but I think Seokjin oppa is pretty great..."
"Yes ma'am," he giggles and wraps his arms around me. "I didn't know you were a therapist as well."
"Far from it," I giggle back.
There's something very comforting about Seokjin. The way he gently rubs my back as he holds me to his chest, his soft breathing as his chest rises and falls, it all adds up to one of the most soothing people in the form of Seokjin.
"Thank you, Jungsoon-ah," he murmurs after a while and gently kisses the top of my head.
"Of course, Oppa," I smile up at him and playfully boop his nose, making him smile as well.
"Aish, how can you be so mature and so cute at the same time?" Seokjin chuckles. "Is being good at everything a Jeon family trait?"
"Yes," I reply, and we both giggle.
"I know you have to give me my check-up now, but I don't want to let you go," he whines childishly, and I ruffle his hair.
"Come on, Oppa, let's get it over with." I pull myself from his embrace, and he frowns instantly.
"Fine, but you have to rub my head when we come back to keep me relaxed," he insists with his lower lip jutting out at me.
"Alright," I nod and lead him back into the dressing room that I've unofficially made my doctor's office.
"Jungsoon-ee noona," Jimin rushes up to me and smiles politely in front of Seokjin. "Can I speak with you for a minute?"
"You couldn't have talked to her during your exam?" Seokjin questions, but truthfully, I wrote off his little visit earlier as his exam, and we hadn't had much opportunity for talking. Not that I'd tell Seokjin about that.
