Chapter 7

"What did you just say to me?" I laughed. "I said that—" I cut him off swinging at his head. "Don't repeat that shit!"

"Nadia no!"

I kept hitting him as tears came out of my eyes. "Anthony you got me fucked up!"

"Listen Nadia it's not what you think. I never touched the girl." He tried to grab my hands but I pushed him back. "Then how she get your number? How does she know you? Why is she telling you she's pregnant August, uh?!" I threw the roses he just brought me at his chest.

"Listen baby—"

"Stop telling me to listen when you aren't saying anything." I sat down in the chair and cried. Terraine and BreAnna started comforting me.

"Nadia, baby I'm sorry but I swear nothing happened."

"August just leave, I need some time to myself. Madison is over in the next room you can get her and pick up Mason."

"Nadia—"

"August just go, please give her some space." Bre spoke softly. I didn't look up once to see if he was actually leaving. Once I heard the door close, I broke down.

"It's okay baby let it out." Terraine laid my head on her stomach and began combing through my hair.

"After all of this? I was nothing but faithful to him."

"We know Nadia, that's why you deserve better. But before you do anything, drive around and think about it then go home and talk to August. You have to hear his side of the story even if it hurts. Let him tell you everything piece by piece." Bre spoke.

I nodded and stood out of the chair wiping my face.

"Raine can you take me home, so I can get my car?" I croaked. She nodded.

"I love you Nadia, don't do anything you will regret." Bre kissed my forehead. "I love you more sis."

Terraine and I walked outside and got into the car. The car ride was silent. Usually we would be joking around and singing to music but I just couldn't. My heart is heavy, it feels like it's about to explode at any second. I really hope August is telling the truth about this Bronchitis bitch. If not I'm swinging on both of them, even if my beef is with August. I'm hitting whoever has been doing wrong to me.

"See later babes I love you." Terraine said as I stepped out. "I love you more cousin."

She pulled away and I got into my car. I'm so glad August isn't here because I really don't want to see him. I pulled out of my driveway and down the street. I have no clue of where I'm driving to, but I just need some space.

I leaned against the door and listened to Nadia cry her eyes out all because of me. I really need to tell her, no need to hurt my family off of a lie some hood rat is telling.

"Hey daddy, where's mommy?" Madison turned around as I opened the door. "Next door I'm taking you with me."

"Oh ok, bye Kanece." She said hugging Terraine's daughter. "Wassam nece."

"Hey godfather." She waved. I grabbed Madison's hand and walked to the car.

"So why isn't mommy coming with us?" Madison asked as I pulled out of the parking lot. "She's spending the day with Terraine." I said the first thing that came to mind.

"That's not fair, I wanna play with Kanece." She pouted.

"Wassam fools where my son at?" I walked into the boys crib. "Ahh shit." I left him on the toilet." Nick said running up the stairs.

"He's not even potty trainin' yet dickhead!" I yelled at him. "Nick is stupid. I put Mase to sleep like an hour ago." Tez came into the hallway.

"Good looks man." I nodded looking around. "You good man looks like you rey starting bawling or something." Nick said coming downstairs with Mason and the baby bag. (Bawling: crying)

"Nah man, but something did happen." I shook my head. "Tell us fool we like brothers."

"Maddie take Mason and go watch some tv." She nodded and took him from Nick.

"So one night, I got fucked up yadda yadda this girl came onto me trynna fuck. Took her to the back—" Tez cut me off by pulling his gun out.

"Imma kill you!"

"Woah Tez! I aint cheat on her, let me finish." I put my hands up. Man these niggas crazy. That's probably why Nadia so damn nuts, swinging on me.

Tez put the gun up and shook his head. "What that gotta do wit you though dummy?"

"We was bout to fuck, but I just couldn't do that to Nadia sober, high, drunk I cant. So I pushed her off me and left."

"Does anybody else know?" Nick asked. "Yeah, just told Nadia that's why I was messed up when I came hea. She said she needed space, so I don't know where she at." I shrugged.

"Damn yo, fucked up big time bro. She had you in the dog house for what a week? It's rey be longer than that now." Nick laughed.

I shook my head because it wasn't funny. Nadia probably somewhere crying her eyes out. She's devastated with a broken heart, I need to see her so I can finish telling her everything.

"Come on Madison." I called to her.

"See y'all, much love." I dapped them up then grabbed Mason to put him in his carrier. "See ya bro, see ya niece."

"Bye uncs!" She hugged their legs. "Next time I will shoot ya ass Yung!" Tez said closing the door behind us.

It's going on 11 and Nadia still ain't back here yet. I talked to Maw and my Mama they both said we just need to sit down and hear what each other has to say about the situation. Well Mama said that, Maw said "stop stickin' ya dick in broads even if she gotcha in a dog house".

I heard the door close, so I ran down the steps. When I saw Nadia, I couldnt believe it was her. I have never really seen Nadia look like this. Even when she told the story of how she lost her loved ones, she never looked this bad which made me feel worse.

"Hey baby. I made dinner if you hungry." I grabbed the plate from the microwave. "I'm fine." Her voice croaked.

"Uhh." I scratched the back of my head. "You wanna talk bout everything?"

"Sure." She moved her hair out of her face showing her red eyes. A lump began to form in my throat stopping me from talking.

Nadia looked at me, waiting for me to start.

"Aight so one night me and the tattoo crew went out. Just a lil thing we do because we worked so hard, ya know."

She nodded.

"This time I was dumb high and drunk. This girl come up to me and take me to the back and get the kissing my neck and shit. It's feeling good because of all the things going on in my system and we weren't really having sex. She unbuckled my belt, but then I realized that I couldn't do that to you sober or not. I love you and my family and I don't wanna risk that baby. I swear I don't, I really love you." I grabbed her hands kissing them.

"August, I love you too. But I don't wanna be that type of woman in a relationship where I have to keep having sex with my man just for him to stay. And then when I don't he's laid up with somebody else." She cried.

"Nadi I swear I would never. Seeing how heartbroken you are now and how it could jeopardize our family, I don't wanna take that risk."

"Just don't do it again or I'm swinging at heads." She wiped her face. I see she never took that ring off, she wasn't going nowhere.

"Shit you already did. Knockin' me upside my head like I'm some damn punchin' bag. Then Bre and Raine all like 'Starkeisha No'." I laughed

"Fuck you August." She laughed. "So you gone eat my food or let it go to waste cause I ain't slave ova no hot stove fo' nothin'."

"You know damn well I'm gone eat it." She said sliding the plate to her and grabbing the fork. As she ate, we laughed and talked about nothing really. It was just like those days when we first met.
