"August don't scare me like that, I understand we got into it but I still worry and love you. Tell me what's going on because I am your lover, your soon to be wife, your rock. I am here for you no matter what, I'm that one person that won't leave your side no matter the situation."

I sighed and let my head fall.

"Some niggas back in NOLA killed Unc Joe."

"What, oh my God August I'm so sorry." She hugged as I cried like a big ass baby.

"Man Nadia this shit hurts because he was more than an uncle to me. He was lowkey my father, my provider, he was my angel sent from God. Now he's gone off some petty shit. Kev gotta go knowing niggas offed his fatha' ova nothing." I shook my head.

"This is the type of world I dont want my kids growin' up in. I wanna protect them foreva. I will be by their side no matta' what. Any nigga crossed them wrong, even look in the direction with hate in their eyes I'm deading them on sight. Ain't nobody bout ta touch my family and get away wit it."

I wiped my face as sorrow began to turn into pure hatred. I was heated now at the point that someone killed my family member and could possibly be after me.

"August listen baby. You don't have to do anything right now. Uncle Joe was one of the first people I met when I first met you. He was so kind and funny. Making jokes all the time about nothing. He was a good man, now you have to express and continue to let everyone know that he was. No need to go back home and try to end this because that's probably what the guys who did this wants. And the kids need you, I need you. Without you I don't know how I will function for our children. I will die on the inside, which will tear me apart to the point where I will die from a broken heart. Madison and Mason needs their father, no matter if the problem is big or small they will need you to fix it. We need you and your unconditional love. So right now just grieve, call up Kevin. Cry, drink, smoke anything to ease your pain. Baby I'm here for you no matter what."

"I love you girl." I kissed her ring then her lips. "I love you more."

"Baby shark do do do do do do baby shark do do do do do do baby shark mommy—" Madison came singing with Mason on her hip.

"Really, not right now Maddie." Nadia slightly laughed.

"Sorry." She giggled. "Daddy what's wrong?" She noticed as she came closer to where Nadia and I sat on the couch.

I looked over at Nadia and she nodded taking Mason from Madison.

"Mama." He played with her necklace.

"Sit down princess." I patted a spot on the couch. "The juice spilled, but it wasn't my fault." She held her hands up in surrender.

"You just told on yourself missy." Nadia stood up to clean the mess. I chuckled, but then became serious again knowing the news I was about to tell my child.

"Baby, you rememba' Unc Joe?"

"Of course daddy, Unc wit missing teeth like me." She smiled which made me laugh. "Yeah baby him."

"Well back at home, he got into a disagreement with these bad people. Those bad people decided to take him away from us. You understand?"

"They killed him?" She said as her lip quivered. I nodded and she hugged me crying. Death has never played a part in Madison's life. She may know about it because of where we lived, but no one close to her as ever died.

"But look princess, he's in a better place now. Nobody can hurt him anymore, he can tell as many jokes as he wants. And God probably gave him all his teeth back."

"You sure?" She wiped her eyes. "I'm positive baby girl. Everything is okay."

She nodded and hugged me again. "I love you daddy."

"I love you more baby girl."

"Doooo dooo." Mason sang the kitchen.

I laughed and stood up walking towards the kitchen with Madison hot on my tail.

"You singing man man." I grabbed him from his high chair. "Madison got that song stuck in his head, all he know is doo doo."

We laughed. "Daddy shark do do do do do do daddy shark-"

"August no" Nadia laughed at me doing the dance. "I cant help it, it's catchy."

"This is terrible, where is my phone when I need to record things."

Times like this is where I realized that I made it. I made it out the hood. I made a beautiful family. I made my own business. But now that I think about it, I made a big mistake. Having sex with Britney last night is which will tear all of my accomplishments to shreds, especially my family.

I have to tell Nadia and soon before anyone else does, but I'm afraid she'll leave me. She has the right to because I cheated but I'm scared she may never come back. She might even believe I had sex with shawty the first time which is why she claiming I'm her baby's father. Damn...I fucked up for real this time.
