it was an ordinary day for the boys.

they had a few acoustic shows, an interview here and there, and some public appearances.

these things were normal for them, and they enjoyed it.

they enjoyed performing their songs, they enjoyed answering questions about their album, and they enjoyed meeting the fans. but sometimes it got a little too overwhelming.

"luke!" some people screamed as he pushed himself through the crowds. he was just trying to get to the car so that he could go back to his hotel room, where he could be alone.

the three other boys followed behind them.

luke smiled at the fans, waving, and stopping a few times to sign things or take pictures.

"i love you so much luke!" a girl said to him, which made him smile a little. "i love you too!" he said, as he disappeared in the sea of people, pushed by his bodyguard.

the four boys settled themselves into their car, trying to block out their outer surroundings. there were girls all around the car as they pulled away.

it would take them an hour to finally arrive at the hotel, as always. so luke sat back in his seat with his earphones in, putting on music, and closed his eyes, slowly falling asleep.

harley was just leaving her work and heading back to her hotel room.

it took her a while to get through traffic, and she was bombarded by screaming teenage girls as she tried to enter the hotel.

the girls weren't there when she had left, but they were now.

must be a celebrity she thought.

ever since she had gotten her internship in New York City, she had to stay at hotels, because she could never find the right place for her. most of the apartments were too expensive, or too small for her taste.

NYC was a bustling city and a little too much for a girl from the quiet suburbs in California.

she did miss her home a lot, but she felt like she needed a big change. she was unhappy back at home. but she still wasn't sure if she was happy where she is now.

harley was in the hotel lobby, waiting around for the elevator when a group of boys came rushing into the hotel and over to her, the one with blue hair constantly pushing the button.

harley furrowed her eyebrows and continued to pay attention to her phone, rather than these four boys who were grappling the attention of the entire floor. she felt like people were staring daggers at her.

the elevator doors opened with a ding and the four shuffled in after harley, pressing their floor numbers, which happened to be hers as well.

"fucking finally." the tall one mumbled. "i'm so damn tired!" the one with curly-ish hair exclaimed.

"why isn't she screaming?" the one with jet black hair whispered. "maybe she doesn't know us?" as if harley couldn't hear them.

"you do know I have ears."

the boys just stared, which made it feel like the longest elevator ride ever to her.

when they finally reached the floor, harley casually walked out of the elevator doors to her room.

"wait!" one of the boys called, just as she was about to close the door.

"um, i think you dropped this." the tall one said, handing her a paper that must have fell out of her folder.

"oh. thank you." she said, taking the paper from him.

he looked tired and unhappy to her, but harley was also tired, so it could've just been the 3 hours of sleep she had wearing off.

"i'm luke by the way." he said, giving a small smile, the first genuine smile harley had seen ever since she came to New York.

"harley." she said as they awkwardly stood there. "oh, like harley quinn!" he laughed, eyes bright. he was a sucker for comic books. "yeah." she said, smiling back.

"well, i'm going to go." luke said, walking backwards on the heels of his feet, stumbling a little, an effect of the lack of sleep he had the night before.

"see you later, luke." harley said, shutting the door slowly, smiling to herself.

he was an awkward one. but he seemed nice.
