"I see you have chosen a side."
I stood there looking at the seriously intimidating gang leader. Was he actually waiting for me to exit school to talk to me?
"Just because I sat at the West Wing for a day doesn't mean I chose a side." I said trying to sound as confident as I could.
"Are you sure about that? Seems like you have had some encounters with Sebastian already. Don't be stupid and fall for Sebastian's tricks." He spat.
I immediately got filled with anger and started heading towards my car with a fast pace.
"Wait. I'm sorry," he called out.
I froze in my position and he walked closer towards me. I turned around and was shocked at the short distance between us. He kept his eyes fixated on the ground as he began to speak.
"I'm sorry. It's just that I know what type of person Sebastian is. He's changed for the worse. I've seen him mess around with so many girls and then dump them. I don't want you to get caught up with his lies." He said, sounding apologetic.
He paused and looked me in the eyes. His stone cold grey eyes found mine never breaking eye contact. Something with the way he looked at felt like he was peeking into my mind and soul. There was a somber look in his eyes that could make someone trust him.
"I don't want you to get hurt." And with that, he walked away returning to his car leaving me standing in the middle of the parking lot.
He drove away before I even had a chance to process what just happened.
Why does he care about what happens to me? We barely met and he's acting as my protector?
After standing for two minutes, I finally returned to my car where I decided I would tell Jade and Lily about this. They might know why he was acting like this. As I was driving down my street, I saw the guy from the Starbucks, Zach, pulling out from the driveway from a house that was only a couple houses down from mine. I was trying to go by unnoticed but he saw me and waved. "You live near here?" He asked as he was getting out of his car.
"Yeah we moved a couple houses down." I replied while unrolling my passenger seat window.
"That's pretty cool, if you're ever bored we can go hang out and I can show you around the town since you're new." He said with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, that sounds cool." I replied.
We both said bye then I continued getting home.
As I entered home I heard my parents then remembered that they come home early today. I walked into the living room and greeted my parents then went to help make dinner for the family.
When my mom and I entered the kitchen, she started talking about how much she and my dad love their new job.
"Oh the offices and the other workers there are so great. I'm glad we took this promotion... What about you? How's school?" She asked
How was I supposed to say that I was caught between two gang leaders and had to make a big decision tomorrow regarding how the rest of my year would go?
"It's great. I made a couple new friends." I replied
"That's great honey! I would love to meet them, invite them over next time we have dinner!" she said
"Okay, sounds great" I replied grinning.
My mother was probably the most supportive person I knew. I just wish I got to see her more, but she loves her job so I can't complain.
"William, come on." My mother said as she gestured for us to take our seats.
"Okay Laura, I'm coming." My father replied while making his way to the table.
We spent our family dinner talking about how we liked the new town and what a great decision it was to move here.
Well I wish I liked the new school I was at. I can't wait for this whole thing to blow over.
I cleaned the table and washed the dishes then forced myself to finish my homework.
Taking my phone out from my pocket, I checked it for the first time after coming home from school

Twelve Missed Calls? Oh no.
I quickly called her back and she picked up after a couple rings.
"SCARLETT? ARE YOU OKAY?" Lily said in a frantic voice.
"Yes, why wouldn't I be okay?" I said trying to hold in my laugh.
"Oh thank GOD. Don't scare me like that ever again." She said
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry."
"Anyways Jade and I are throwing a small kickback at my house tomorrow. It's just gonna be us and a couple of our friends, It's gonna be really fun, wanna come?"
"Okay sure, sounds fun." I said
I was excited Lily was throwing a little party, it would be fun to see other people and meet new friends.
I took a shower then remembered the dreaded decision I had to make. After thinking about it for a couple minutes, I made my decision.

As I was exiting the gym, I received a call from Scarlett and immediately picked up.
"Hey what's up? Are you okay?" I asked concerned, knowing that she never calls me when she wants to talk and instead sends snapchats.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I just wanted to know if you're going to go to Lily's party?" She asked as I sighed in relief knowing she was okay.
"I'm not big on parties so I don't know" I replied
"Oh come on, you have to come. For me?" She asked. And with that I was sold.
"I'm really bored, do you want to meet up at the park?" I suggested.
"Ya sure." She responded and I felt a smile find its way on my lips. ---------------------------------------
