AANG

I couldn't believe what Katara had said about Kaya. I was almost ashamed about being Katara's friend.

"Aang, it's okay. You need to calm down." I heard Kaya's soothing voice.

"But, I can't calm down. The war is still going on and I don't know what happened within a weeks time. I need to face the fire lord and you know that. Everyone knows that." I said my voice still a little raspy from crying.

"You don't need to worry about the war. I was talking about what Katara said. I think you should probably let it go." Kaya said looking into my eyes that were identical to hers.

"It wasn't true anyway. My life would be harder if you hadn't gave me that terrible headache and I decided to follow where the pain was coming from." I said and Kaya laughed.

"Also, what did you think I did when your were captured or sleeping?" Kaya asked me.

"I dunno, surfing?" I answered while Kaya chuckled.

"No you idiot! I checked on all the villages. When something went wrong or if something was wrong I fixed it." Kaya said and a huge smile crept on my face while I gave her a bone-crushing hug.

"Thank you so much!" I yelled.

"It's what Avatar Spirits do right?" Kaya told me. I just smiled.

"Aang! Aa-ng! AANG! Where in the world are you?!" I heard Katara yell. Kaya heard her too and left turning invisible.

"I am right here Katara!" I said waving at her she ran to me and hugged me.

"I am so sorry for what I said Aang, I really didn't mean it. I was a little... jealous." Katara said blushing.

"It's okay Katara, I get that from girls a lot." I said jokingly as Katara laughed her head off.

"Goodness Aang, staying away from you for a week really did a number on me. I not only missed you, I was so worried about you. But where did you get all this humor from? I thought that was Sokka's thing." Katara said playing with her hair.

"Kaya taught me them. She was company for me for that wretched week. She is actually really funny." I said as Katara barely winced. The only reason I could tell was because she moved so close to me. My heart started pounding in my chest. What was this feeling?

"I have to go do some laundry and stuff." Katara said clearing her throat and leaving me alone.

Kaya suddenly appeared and started smiling devilishly. God! I keep on moving from one girl to another!

"Someone has a crush!" Kaya said in a singsong voice. I looked at her nervously.

"Who? Not me!" I said blushing furiously.

"She likes you back ya know." Kaya said sitting on her stomach. Her head was propped by her hands and her feet were criss crossing in the air.

"Kaya! What do I do? This is the weirdest feeling. I get all nervous and jittery and my stomach decides to do a gymnastics routine!" I say.

"Honestly, you two were made for eachother. I think it will play out easily. But, don't go all sweaty nervous guy when she comes near you. I saw you Aang, you looked hilarious but don't do it again." Kaya said, "for the mean time, just maybe hold her hand a little or when does something nice, give her a kiss on the cheek. She has the hots for you." Kaya finished.

"Okay." I breathed.

"Aang, what in the world would you do without me?" Kaya asked throwing a snowball at me. Thus the beginning of a snow ball fight.

~The Next Day~

I woke up to the bright sun in my eyes. I stuffed my head into Appa's fur because it was so bright.

"Wake up sleepy head!" I heard Katara yell. She was shaking my shoulders vigorously.

"I'm awake Katara," she didn't seem to hear me so I said louder, "I AM AWAKE KATARA!"

"Geez, you don't have to shout. Come on, we haven't had a break in a long time lets get some breakfast in town." Katara said. I quickly put on my clothes and followed Katara into the village.

When we got some food in the market we had a picnic in the park. Katara seemed weaker than before the capture. Her hair was in her normal hair loopy thingy but strands were put of place which is unlike Katara.

Grabbing her hand in mine, I asked, "Is something wrong?"

"I don't know Aang, I think I have feel-" before Katara could finish, I carefully placed my lips on hers. She responded and smiled.

"I have feelings for you." I said and she blushed furiously.

"What a way to shut someone up." Katara said referring to the kiss.

"I know it's so ex-" I said but now it was Katara's turn to shut me up with a kiss. Wrapping her arms around my neck she kissed me softly.

"Exhilarating" I finished.

Before we could do anything else, a villager came running up to us.

"Avatar! Thank goodness it's you! It's the fire nation, they are here!" He said panting.

"I am on it." I said running to see that the fire navy was invading the village. There were so many of them I couldn't take them all alone.

"I'll help you." Katara said but winced when she was getting up.

"No, you go get all the villagers out of the village. It might be a messy fight." I said as Katara favored her left leg. She nodded and headed into the village.

Coming face to face with the leader, Commander Zhao, I shot some air in his face.

This battle was mostly defense in my case. There were so many fire benders fire bending in my direction I couldn't get some offense in. They also wanted me back in their capture. I need Kaya.

As if on cue, Kaya came back and turned into mortal form adding a weight in my shoulders. She made a mini hurricane and blew all the fire benders back a little. Literally and Figuratively, they were all surprised she was alive.

Taking down the fire benders and knocking them out or sending them running, the fire nation dwindled down to Zhao.

"Well, well, well." Zhao said clapping slowly, "if it isn't the TWO Avatars. Sorry Aang, this little girl isn't going to help you against my crew."

"This little girl kind of busted Aang out from your clutches. And we defeated your little crew." Kaya said motioning to the crew on the ground.

"Not quite" Zhao said as archers started to come out from the trees and shot their arrows at us. I took some water from the nearby trees and once I got enough, I made an octopus.

I bended the octopus arms and either made the arrows fly in another direction or sliced them in half. Kaya was just blocking them with air bending.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my lower leg. I stopped bending the water to look and suddenly I felt another sharp pain go through my arms. Kaya noticed it too and lifted me up to carry me out of the town. She lied me down on a roof and quickly finished up the fire nation.

I looked down at my body and saw blood almost everywhere. Then I stated to feel light headed and got knocked out.
