KAYA

I don't know what came over me or how, but when Aang fell to the ground I lost it.

I reached deep in my mind to figure out what to do. Oddly enough, I don't want to kill Zuko for making Aang unconscious.

I looked at the fire burning on Aang and breathed. I calmly bended the fire to make a fireball and threw it at Zuko.

Whoa hold on, I just fire bended!

Zuko, completely taken aback by what I did, unskillfully dodged the fire ball. And aimed it at Aang.

"No!" I fell to the ground looking down. But I looked up and was in the Avatar State.

Bending the water from the seas I made them into ice shards and starting throwing them at Zuko. His defense was strong and he knocked me in the water.

Surprised, I came up with a water torpedo under me swirling around. And I did what I never thought I could do.

I made the fire and water collide making a huge arrow of cold and hot ice. Ready to strike I felt a hand on me.

Turning around I saw Katara's face. Her eyes were sparkling with fear and I controlled myself collapsing onto her.

"What" I started weakly, "just happened?"

"You kicked some serious fire nation butt that's what happened." Sokka replied patting me on the back. When he thought no one was looking, he did an embarrassing victory dance.

"How hurt is Aang?" I asked Katara healing master of healness.

"Actually he is fine just burnt. But that is easy to take care of." She replied healing Aang with some water from her pouch.

After Katara healed him Aang woke up and looked at me. He studied me and winked.

"Kaya, can you tell us about yourself?" Katara asked.

I was just going to open my mouth but Aang stopped me and recited everything that I told him.

"-and her bison isn't allergic to anything." Aang finished.

"Well said." I started but then remembered something, "hey uh where's Kanna?" I asked everyone.

"Fire nation is really terrible..." Katara started to say but I didn't need her to finish before my vision got blurry with tears as I started whimpering.

"We will get Kanna back." Aang said hugging me and comforting me, "I promise."

We went on Appa's head to have some privacy and I cried on Aang.

"Sorry I am totally messing up your shirt." I said hiccuping.

"Do you even know me? I am an air bender I dry off easy." Aang replied making me laugh.

"It's just when no one came to even notice me during the war I had Kanna and she kept me company. She cared. Now she's gone." I said crying again.

Then I fell asleep in Aang's arms.

********************************

I woke up to Aang shaking me out of my wits. I fluttered my eyes open to realize that we had made a pit stop in Omashu.

"Appa got tired so here we are!" Aang said enthusiastically.

I gave Aang his headband and we both put them on covering our arrows.

I narrowed my eyes at two commoners talking while Sokka was blabbing about finding a water bending master.

"Did you hear? There are two avatars!" One man said.

"Two?!" The other man said.

"Yes a girl has arrived. The fire nation is doomed!" He said showing a wanted sign of Aang and I.

"How did we not see her?"

"She disguised as a water bender."

"Oh my!"

I widened my eyes in shocks the men started to drift off into another topic.

"So Kaya- Kaya!" I heard Sokka yell, "are you even listening?"

"N-no." I stuttered in utter fear.

"What is it?" Aang asked me.

"They know." I started, "they know about the second avatar" I said falling to my knees. I shook my head in disbelief.

Everyone looked at me and started to comfort me. My life will be so different now.

Aang was the first to get up, "What do we do now?" He asked.

See, here is the thing, our plan to get around the world was for me to dress up differently in each nation to master the elements in secret and then surprise the fire lord. But now, that can't happen.

"Do they know what you even look like?" Katara asked me and I nodded.

Sokka cursed under his breath and Aang and I looked at eachother in fear. Katara paced around Appa and we all sighed simultaneously.

"What now?" I asked.

"I don't even know." Aang replied.

"Let's just continue into the Northern Water Tribe. We just have to be more careful." Katara said climbing onto Appa.

"But, Appa's tired." Aang said, "How about we go into Omashu. No one will capture the Avatars there."

"Let's just hope that we got to Omashu before the fire nation did." Sokka said.

We all climbed up on the mountain and sighed in relief. Omashu was still the same. Thank God.

We all walked in the walls and Aang smelled the air and smiled.

"What now?" Katara asked Aang and I.

We both shrugged at the same time. But Sokka had an idea.

"Food and supplies." He said, "let's go to the market to get what we need first." I nodded with Katara but Aang walked in a different direction.

"No." Aang simply stated, "Kaya's going to teach Katara and I water bending now. I saw a lake around here. Sokka go get supplies."

"But you all need a master" Sokka said.

"Sokka, Aang's right, Kaya said herself that she learned from the water benders of the Northern Water Tribe." Katara stated.

"I guess I could teach you what I know." I said shyly.

"Okay fine. Go play with your magic water." Sokka huffed.

"What's his problem?" Aang asked Katara. Katara shrugged.

We found a lake with trees surrounding it. The lake was messy and polluted but it was water.

"Okay, first-"

{A/N just imagine Kaya teaching Aang and Katara water bending. If I explained what Kaya taught them it would be boring}

I finished the lesson and Aang looked behind me oddly and I turned around and gasped.

"So, you thought you could hide from me. Too bad it's shedding season for your bison." Zuko said.
