Ed's POV

Ian Samuels. Is that name familiar? Maybe I went to school with him? No, he's American. The woman continues typing and I grab my buzzing phone out of my pocket. I smile when I see that Audrey had put her contact in as "Audrey Your Coffee Mate". "Making sure this is you. Ed?" She writes with a winkie face. Audrey. Oh my god. I remember one day in the coffee shop, she was talking about her ex boyfriend. Ian Samuels. No, this can't possibly be the same guy. What are the odds he would come to the exact same town in all of the world as Audrey? "Sorry, your name isn't in our computer," the cashier says, interupting my thoughts. "God dammit! Just let me buy a fucking pack of cigarettes!" Ian raises his voice to a peak where the glass in the windows shakes. And then I get an idea. I tap him on the back when the cashier goes into the backroom. He turns around, red faced. "Hey, I'll get you the cigarettes. Go outside, I'll meet you there," I tell him. "Hey, thanks man," he says, patting me on the back and exiting the store. The cashier comes back, looking slightly disoriented. "Where'd he go?" She asks, frazzled. "He just walked out," I say, slapping my items on the counter. "And I'll also get a pack of camels," I almost whisper. "Please tell me you've got ID," she says, ringing me up. I flip out my wallet and hand her the plastic card. "Thank you," she replies, grabbing a pack and setting it on the counter with the rest of my stuff. She throws it all in a plastic bag as I hand her the money owed. When I exit he's leaning against the brick structure. I flick my hand in the direction of my apartment, a signal for him to follow. He does, and we make it around the corner before I put my bag down and pull out the cigarettes. Ian sighs in relief and pulls out his orange lighter, his hands quivering as he lights the cigarette and puts it in his mouth. He takes a long drag and I lean against the wall. "So, took a plane in last night?" I ask him, probably interupting his pleasure. "Yeah. It's stupid really, I'm chasing after a girl," he says, his voice sluggish as he inhales the smoke continually. I try not to sound too curious or interested as I continue. "She's amazing. She's got an ass on her," he says. I reckon there's alchohol in his system. My blood boils thinking about what horrible things he's probably done to Audrey. I play along as well as I can. "What's her name?" I ask, trying to sound vague. "Audrey," he replies. "Man, Audrey, what a sexy name," he says, taking another drag. I want to slug this guy right across the face. "Well, you've got your cigarettes, so I'll be on my way," I say, trying to keep the anger out of my voice. "I'm going to beat the fuck out of Audrey when I see her again," he mumbles, mostly to himself. I stop dead in my tracks. My fists throb with the hunger to kill this guy right here and now. Instead I just backtrack and slam his head against the brick wall, my arm under his neck and my knee in his stomach, holding him in place. "If you even think about hurting Audrey again, you and I will be having a little talk, just the two of us," I say, finally freeing the frustration that was caged in the bottom of my throat. At first, he looks confused, but then I feel him squirm free and am taken off guard. A hard fist connects with my face.

Audrey's POV

When I get home Cassie's on the couch with Andrew. I decide not to say anything, she was right last night about Ed. They don't even stop kissing when they hear my come in, I think they just get closer. Andrew even puts a hand under her shirt and then under her bra. Gross. I set my bag and coat on the chair by the door and hear Cassie moan. "Okay that's enough thanks!" I yell. That's disgusting I can't even ignore them anymore. Andrew's bottom lip is in between Cassie's teeth and he has to rip it away to talk. "Sorry, Audrey," he says, getting off of Cassie and standing up. There's a red mark on his neck and I have to try really hard to keep my giggles in. I change into comfy pj's and sit on the couch, trying to be as awkward as possible so Andrew will get uncomfortable and leave. That's when my phone buzzes. I pull it out of my back pocket and see that Ed is calling. "Hi," I say with a smile, walking into my room and shutting the door behind me. There's silence on the other line. "Hello?" I ask, sitting on my bed.
