Audrey's POV
I get call from Ed at 2:30 am. Of course, me being me I consider the worst case scenario. "Hullo?" I answer, sleep clouding my thoughts and pulling me under, faster than expected. "Shit. What time is it?" Ed murmurs to himself. I snap up at the sound of his voice. "Ed, is something wrong? Do you need me?" I ask, already flipping the covers over and standing up in the dark. "No, no Audrey it's fine get back in bed," he laughs. I can hear such obvious excitement for something in his voice. "How did you know I was out of bed?" I laugh tiredly, removing my boots and hopping back into bed. "Your mattress is squeaky as hell," he says. "Goodnight, Ed," I mumble. The last thing I hear is my phone falling on the floor.
I run to work today. It's a Saturday but Emma wanted me and Ed to work the 12 to 6 shift today, and neither of us had any problem doing that. Anyways, Ed obviously had something to say to me last night and I'm eager. But on my way there I get a call from Cassie. "What?" I ask, out of breath. "Don't kill me," she begins. "What?" I ask, out of breath. The cold November air bites at my face so I pull my scarf closer over my lips. "Okaysoandrewandi-" she says so quickly I only get parts of it. "Cassie slow down!" I innterupt. She takes a huge breath and begins again. "Andrew and I..." She starts. "Oh my god you're pregnant aren't you," I say, opening the door to Celeste's. Ed looks like a little puppy holding his pee he's so excited. "No, I'm not pregnant! I was just going to tell you that Andrew wants to take me to Isle of White for the weekend! Gosh Audrey!" She yells. "Oh. Whatever have fun!" I say, hanging up instantly. I'm desprate for whatever Ed's about to say. "Why do you look like you've had three Red Bulls?" I ask, unbuttoning my coat and setting my bag down on the counter. He's wearing his glasses. I love it when he wears his glasses. "So, for the past few months I've been meeting with record labels, trying to get a shot, and there hasn't been much luck... Until now," he says, trying desperately to hold back a jump. "And I think I might get signed," he says, looking close to tears of joy. "Oh my god Ed thats amazing!" I scream, throwing my arms around him. This is the tightest hug we've ever shared and I can basically feel the happiness radiating off of him. I realize my legs are curled around his waist when my boots sqeak together. Ed laughs out of happiness which of course makes me laugh too. "There's one more thing," he says as I let go. "What?" I ask, a smile from cheek to cheek. "The potential guy who wants to sign me wants to have dinner tonight and he told me I could invite one person," he says. "Shutup," I say, knowing exactly who he's talking about. "Oh my god, Ed," I say, hugging him again, this time just way looser. At the same time a middle aged woman walks in with her 11 year old looking daughter. I let go and quickly take their orders. "That's £7.50," I say, trying not to be distracted by Ed unraveling my braid and combing it out with his fingers. "Ed, you can try to distract me but it's not going to work today," I murmur with a smirk, handing the woman her change then walking over to the coffee maker and making a basic iced coffee. Ed slips his glasses over my face and screws up my vision. "Ed, quit it!" I laugh, mixing the ice and then popping the top on. "Thank you," the woman says with boredom in her voice as I hand her the coffee. As they walk out, I hear the little girl say "Mummy, someday I want to love someone that much."
