Obi-wan Kenobi wasn't surprised to hear the blast at the Senate building. His senses had told him something sinister was afoot that night. He was the first on scene, alerting emergency crews and directing clone troopers to clear the west wing of the senate building and contain the fire.

Nor was Obi-wan Kenobi surprised when a hooded figure dropped out of the sky and landed behind him. He was ready, igniting his lightsaber and raising it between him and the hooded figure. Then Obi-wan Kenobi deactivated his lightsaber and folded his arms in front of him.

"Oh, it's you."

"And, who else would it be," Anakin asked removing his hood.

"Possibly, the bomber. He might want to ask for a do-over."

"It was a bomb then."

"Yes," Obi-wan said bringing his hand to the trim beard on his chin. "Not a very powerful one though. It didn't even breach the outer wall, producing more smoke than anything else." Obi-wan gestured to the growing column of black cloud.

"The Chancellor?" Anakin raised his eyebrows.

"He's fine. He was in the Senate offices at the time and nowhere near the blast. Although, it appears he was the target."

Anakin looked at his master and lowered his brow. "That doesn't make sense. An assassin deft enough to get past the outer senatorial defenses, but too inept to build a proper bomb for the job."

"I agree Anakin. All is not what it appears, " Obi-wan said, closing his eyes, taking a deep breath, and reaching into the force. Obi-wan felt it again. Not a dark-side user exactly, but sinister nonetheless. A predatory sense. Closing in its prey. Closing in on...

"Padme," Anakin whispered, eyes widening.

Obi-wan looked at his former apprentice. "I feel it too."

They both turned around and ran.
