Padme laid her head back against the electric machine. Her muscles collapsed the moment the machine stopped. She closed her eyes trying to regain her senses. She stayed absolutely still. She had been through this routine three times now. Excruciating pain, followed by his touch. It disgusted her to have his hand on her. She had flinched instinctively the first time and Vindi turned the machine on stronger after that. Did the machine even have a stronger setting, she thought. Or, was she just getting weaker?

After the second bout of electrocution, Padme had angrily attacked him the moment he touched her. She tried to grab his hand with her free legs and kick at his head. She wanted to stun him, stop him from touching or hurting her again. But, he ducked out of her reach and immediately began to torcher her a third time.

This time Padme froze as she felt his sweaty palm grab hold of her ankle. She staid still, keeping her eyes closed. She needed a moment to think. Something she found impossible to do while in so much pain.

"Good," Vindi whispered. Padme already nauseous from the pain of electrocution fought hard not gag at the sound of his voice. "Your reconditioning is going smoothly."

Reconditioning? What is going on here? Why would the separatists want her reconditioned? Padme tried to think of any other explanation for why she was there than what she suspected in the back of her mind. What she feared. That this wasn't a separatist plot at all. That this was a just a madman obsessed with her. Bent on having her. She shuddered to think of what he meant to do with her as she felt his slimy hand slide up her thigh.

Padme opened her eyes, realizing her mistake too late. The shudder had been so involuntarily.

"No," she tried to call through the cloth still stuffed in her mouth. But, Vindi was already on his feet heading toward the power console.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk," Vindi said, grabbing the large knob. "I'm sorry, my pet, but this is the only way to make you mine." And he turned the knob.
