Long Goodbyes

Chapter 11

~Leylahs POV~

I sit in Jess's bed, smoothing out her untouched bed sheets.

"You don't think it's weird that Tay calls Cam dad? it's been 9 years.. Nash should give in and let the kid call him dad." I say.

Hayes nods.

"Leylah this was so hard on Nash. He lost the love of his life, and another brother. I honestly don't think 9 years is enough for him."

I guess he's right..

Nash loved her so much, I don't even know how it was possible .

And Matt was his best friend. After they made up about the whole promise ring thing, and we found out Matts chances, those two were together all the time.

Just the way everything happened..

It was so tragic .

I remember it like it was yesterday...

||FLASHBACK||

"Yes! oh my god, that was a great day." Jess giggles, clutching onto Matts hand.

He was still able to talk, but barely. I think Jess knows he's not gonna make it.

"Oh! Remember when I fell down the stairs, and all Cam was worried about was his stupid Adidas pants." Nash laughs.

"Well you weren't dead on the floor, so I had to make sure they weren't ripped!" Cam argued .

Matt started to chuckle, but couldn't catch his breath.

Jess's eyes got wide, and they already started tearing up.

Quickly I ran into the hall.

"HELP!" I yelled, making everyone turn towards me, "HES CHOKING!"

A doctor and two nurses ran into Matts room behind me.

Pushing Jess out of the way.

"No! Matt!" She covers her mouth, "I love you.."

Matts eyes blink and his hand reaches into Jess's view.

First a slight wave, then point to the ground, and then to the sky.

"Yes Matty. From earth to heaven, I will always love you."

She breaks into tears when Matts hand falls.

She tries getting to him, but the nurses push her out of the way.

Nash picks her up, carrying her into the hall.

I follow, considering both of them are in bad condition.

"Jess there gonna help-"

And right in the middle of my sentence the steady beep comes from his monitor.

Jess freezes, clutching her stomach.

I can't help but let a few tears escape my eyes. Matthew Espinosa..

He's.. He's gone.

Without saying anything Jess begins running, Nash and I chasing after her.

"Jess wait!" He yells, running faster.

"Wait here. I'll go get her." I tell him, before sprinting off.

"Tell her I love her and everything will be okay.." His voice cracks.

I nod my head, running her direction.

SHe goes through the doors leading to the parking lot.

Jess, do not get in that car.

But of course.
