I was only seven years old when my parents abandoned me in the wood. My dad left me alone and in pain while my mom waited at home. I never got to see her loving face again... The last I saw of my family was my unloving father.
Too young to understand but old enough to remember. That day changed my life as I was left near a lake in the middle of the night. Where no one could hear my cries of pain and fear. Well, at least I thought so...
It was a dark and clear night... No clouds to be found but no stars as well. Nothing there but the bright wight full moon. Deep within a forest, there is a small blue hedgehog being dragged deeper into the unknown terrain. That hedgehog was me...
"I can't take care of this twerp anymore! I wish that you were never born," I heard someone say as I was thrown into a tree.
I winced in pain as I felt my back hit the hardwood. I looked up at the person who had thrown me. His fur blue like mine and his emerald eyes glow in the moonlight. A small strip of brown hair handing over one of his eyes. Wearing a vest with extra rope and tape hanging from his belt. This monster of a man was my father...
"Goodbye, son... I hope we never cross paths again," He said to me and started to walk away.
I didn't care about how much I hated him but I didn't want to see him leave. I beat against the ropes the bound my arms and legs together. I tried to scream through the tape that kept my mouth shut. Tears streaming from my eyes as my dad disappeared hiding in the shadows.
My muffled cries soon faded and I curled into a ball the best I could. This action was the only thing that made me feel safe. I just wanted to stay there sad and alone... But safe and secure.
I soon uncurled knowing that I couldn't stay like this forever. I didn't know where to start, but then my eyes glanced to the rope around my legs. I looked around trying to find something to aid in cutting the ropes.
There was barely anything around but the lake. The moon made the water glisten in the light and I couldn't help but admire the beauty. I then snapped out of the trance when I heard wolves howl in the distance.
I was able to scramble around the area and found a small shard of glass on the ground. I bent down and took the small sharp object and was able to cut the ropes on my hands. I ripped the tape off my mouth and gasped in pain. I then cut the rope around my legs without cutting myself in the process.
After I was free I looked around. Nothing but forest stood before me... I didn't know what to do! I was only a small seven years old having no experience with real-life problems. I just stood there helplessly crying right where I stood.
I heard someone start clapping behind me. I twirled around to see a tall green hedgehog standing before me. He was wearing a black jacket on with red glasses resting o his forehead. A nasty huge scar on his chest was barely visible in the light but it was still there.
I started to back up but my shoulders were grabbed by black-gloved hands. I struggled against the arms that held me captive. I followed the arms that were around me and they belonged to an orange-furred fox. Her hair was in tight pigtails as huge orange bow sat on her head. She was wearing all black and looked like a ninja.
"W-Who are you?" I asked as I slipped away from the fox and started backing away.
"I saw how you escaped from those ropes... To be honest that was impressive! I also saw how you father just left you out here... So don't say that you are just heading home. You and I both know you don't have one," The green hedgehog said as he stepped closer to me.
"We were wondering if you wanted to live with us! We could use someone like you on our team. We can treat you better than that dad of yours," The orange fox told me also closing in on me.
Soon I was backed against a tree. I grunted as my back slammed against the tree. I whimpered in fear and locked my eyes shut. But I felt a gentle hand rub my head. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the green hedgehog smiling down at me.
"So what do ya say champ? Stay here in the woods or come with me and her," He asked me with a chuckle.
"I guess I can go with you," I said with a sigh and walked up to the two.
"I'm Scourge and this is my wife Fiona... What's your name kid?" The hedgehog asked as he put his arm around Fiona.
"I'm Sonic... Sonic the Hedgehog,"
