Amy's POV

I could hear shuffling next to me in bed. The movement was subtle and moved the blanket just a smidge but I could feel it. The rustling kept getting louder and louder.

When my eyes opened they took a while to adjust. There was sunlight pouring through the windows. I could hear the birds singing. The wind was lightly blowing through the hole in my wall.

'Wait... I didn't open the window last night...' I thought as I sat up in bed.

I had a small headache but I ignored it. I looked over to where I had sat Sonic down to sleep the night before. I was hoping to see the smiling blue hedgehog lying next to me but....

He wasn't there!

'Did he leave? He can barely run and jumping is out of the question!' I thought as I quickly got dressed.

I threw on my red and white dress. I quickly snapped on my gold bracelets and put on my red headband. I brushed my messy quills down and slid on my gloves.

I walked down the long hallway towards the stairs. I decided to check any of the other rooms just in case he was in one of them. I was really starting to worry.

'What if he jumped out the window and made his ankle even worse?' I asked myself as I got closer and closer to the stairs.

When I started to head downstairs I started to smell something. It smelled sweet and bold. I was drawn to the smell and it was delicious. I noticed it was coming from the kitchen.

When I entered the kitchen I saw a pair of crutches leaning on a chair. I then saw a pile of pancakes with powdered sugar lightly sprinkled on every one of them. There was a bottle of maple syrup next to the pile of pancakes.

"Hey, Ames! How are you this morning?" I heard a warm and kind voice say.

I looked up from the sweet treat to become face to face with Sonic. He had a black and red hoodie on. He had taken off his fingerless gloves and his black choker. His dark blue jeans reaching to his ankles.

I noticed he hadn't taken off the Splint. The white plastic that was wrapped around his ankle made his pants leg a weird and awkward shape. His foot was lifted just a little bit off the ground.

"I'm doing good! How are you Sonic?" I asked him as we both took our seats at the opposite sides of the table.

"I'm fine! Amy? Are you alright? You seem panicked," He said giving me a cute and confused look.

"I thought you had jumped out of the window... I saw it open when I woke up,"

"Oh! I'm sorry! I just thought it was getting really stuffy in there,"

"No, it's alright! I just didn't know where you were and I really care about you,"

There was an awkward silence. Sonic had a little bit of pink showing on his cheeks. I gave him a smile and he was blushing so bad it was reaching to his ear tips.

"So what did you do while I was sleeping?" I asked him as I looked at the wonderful pancakes.

"Not much... All I did was open the window and made some pancakes... Also, you can have as many as you would like! I already ate my share," He said with a smile.

"Why did you make breakfast... I could have done it. You know since your hurt and all," I mentioned as I took a bite of a pancake.

"I decided to cook breakfast for you this morning before I headed home," Sonic said and my heart dropped.

"You're going back?"

"I have to Amy... That's my family and my home... They have to know that I'm alright,"

Sonic then pushed out his chair and got up from the table. He grabbed the crutches and made his way to the front door. I helped him put back on his fingerless gloves and black choker while he slid on his red and white shoes.

I then carefully helped him outside by holding his hand. There he stood on my front porch giving me one of his happy smiles. He then gave me a thumbs up and adjusted the crutches under his arms.

"Don't worry Amy... I'll be back before you know it!" He told me before he started to walk away.

"Well, Alright... Just don't be a stranger," I told him and he nodded and he finally left.

I watched as he got further and further away. The sun was reflecting off his quills in a mystical way. I could barely see him and when he was completely out of view I let out a sigh.

I walked back inside and sat down in the kitchen. I looked at the empty chair across from me as I ate. I then started to scroll through my phone. I ended up going to the group chat with all my friends in it.

'Should I really do this?' I asked myself as I pressed the buttons soon forming words.

-Phone-

Amy: Guys... Sonic just left my house.

Rouge: I and the other's are on our way.

Amy: Is this really a good Idea?

Tails: We all made an agreement with Amy

Knuckles: Tails is right Amy... We said that we would keep an eye on him together. Maybe we can help him out.

Amy: But following him home? I don't think it's right...

Shadow: You don't have to come Rose... The others and I can go and you can stay and wait for us

Amy: No I'll tag along...

Blaze: Amy you really don't have too. We will respect you if you think this wrong. We can take care of this and you can stay at your house.

Amy: Well... Alright, I guess I can stay.

Silver: You guys do realize it is like 6:30 in the morning right? Why do you guys get up so early?

Shadow: Shut it, Silver... Now, Amy, we'll search for Sonic in the woods and you stay home.

Amy: I will! Also, I can send you Sonic exact location!

Tails: How can you do that?

Amy: There is a tracker in the crutches I gave him!

Shadow: I'm not even going to say how disturbing that is... Amy just sends the location to all of us and we'll be on our way...

Amy: Alright... Good luck!

-Not phone-

I noticed I had finished all the pancakes and I got up from my chair. I soon washed my place and started to make my way up to my bedroom. I soon found myself lying down on the bed.

I hugged one of the pillows and got a nose full of Sonic's scent. I smelled so nice and calming. I loved the smell and kept hugging the pillow tighter and tighter.

'I'll see you soon Sonic! I really hope it's sooner than I think...'
