~Eren's POV~

Nearly every student in every class was counting down the last few moments of school. The clock read five minutes to two and once that minute reaches twelve, then summer break will officially begin.

It's not like I have anything planned. It's been a repeat for the last three years since I entered high school. I always say to my friends 'Yea we should definitely hang out' or some other phrase similar to that. But in the end, all I do in summer is stay inside, play video games, watch Netflix, eat, and sleep. It's like summer is the hibernation-version for humans. Mainly me.

Lost in thought with a great amount of drool seeping out of my mouth, I was startled when I heard the loud screams of the surrounding people in my last period.

Glancing back up at the clock, it was proven that school was official over. Well only until like another two and a half months. Next year I'd be starting senior year, which kinda scares me a little bit only because after that, I'd be kicked out and brought into the new world. The adult life.

I'm not ready for that shit yet.

Grabbing my book bag, I sprinted past the neighboring faces and out the front doors to look for one of my best and only friends.

Once leaving the front door of the building, the sun's ray blasted into my eyes practically blinding me. Stumbling to regain my balance and sight, I blinked multiple times until I saw the person I was looking for.

"Mikasa!" I shouted causing her to turn towards my sweaty self.

She raised her hand and gave a waving motion. She was your average girl, she was wearing black shorts and a faded red off-the-shoulder top. She wasn't big on shoe-game so she'd just wear flip tops to school.

Running to her, she spread out her arms in hopes of a hug. Which I was fine with, but she would always give the most longest hugs. I didn't want anyone getting a different idea of the relationship Mikasa and I had.

Slowing down my pace, I threw my body onto Mikasa only because I was in such a great mood.

"So Mikasa, what do you wanna do for our first day of summer?" I happily asked as numbers of people walked by us to cross the street and board buses.

"Hmm...my brother's back from college so I'd like to see him before we do anything crazy," she replied as she pulled out her phone.

"I didn't even know you had a brother!" I belted, "Why didn't you ever tell me?!"

She shrugged as her fingers tapped away on her phone screen, "We weren't the closest and he was always so...blah."

"Blah?" I copied her words only because I was confused.

"When he home before college, he just didn't talk a lot. He was always locked away in his room. God knows what he does! He doesn't even have any video game consoles. Bet he just jerks of everyday," Mikasa complained after putting her phone back in her pocket, "Okay let's start walking, my mom said he's home right now."

Surprised at her rant, I could only laugh, "HA! Why is he even back? Shouldn't he be out with his friends for his vacation break?"

"I don't even know why, it's not like I asked him to come home," she complained.

The walk from school to Mikasa's house was less than ten minutes. But it felt longer because it seemed as if the sun was baking us alive. My attire today was a dark pair of ripped jeans, with a olive colored shirt, and a pair of white hightop converse.

I'm known in school for being a fashion icon. I love me and my outfits.

After walking, we finally arrived at Mikasa's beautiful abode. It was two stories and painted white. She struggled at finding the keys to her house, but eventually did. Unlocking the door, we were greeting with a cool breeze that the air conditioners had created. Her house was very cramped, but it was quite adorable. To the left was a stair case that led upstairs and ahead down a short hallway was the kitchen. There was a small bathroom in that hallway too. To the right was the arch doorway to the living room.
