Senri's P.O.V.~

"Alright," Riko, our new coach said, crossing her arms while looking at the group in the gym. "Take off your shirts."

"Wh-What?!?" Everyone gasped in shocked.

"I said take off your shirts," Riko said. "Unless you don't want to make the team."

Many of the new recruits seemed scared of her so they left, resulting just six of us left.

I nudged Tetsu, who was behind a big scary looking guy and whispered to him. "Do I do it too?"

Tetsu shook his head. "I'll fight them if they make you."

"You're too stiff." She commented on a guy and I shove a hand over my mouth to keep myself from laughing. 'I'm guessing she has some sports training experience.'

I watched as the short brown hair girl's eyes scanned the males bodies and stopped in front of the scary male in front of us. Her eyes widen. 'I guess there is something special about him..?'

"Stop looking at him," The guy with the glasses said, seeming jealous of the attention she was giving him.

"Ah- Sorry.." She said after she recovered from her shock. "I think I got everyone."

"You didn't check Kuroko Tetsuya and Shirogane Senri." The regular with the glasses spoke. Riko's eyes shot up.

"I'm surprised that I forgot!" She said and turns back to the group. "Is Kuroko Tetsuya and Shirogane Senri there?"

She gave us a second and sighed. "I guess they're not here- Let's start practice."

"Um, excuse me, I'm here," Tetsu steps forward and I almost laughed at everyone's priceless reaction to his sudden 'appearance'. "I'm Kuroko."

"WHEN DID YOU GET HERE?!?!!" Riko yelled in shock.

"I was here the whole time," he said and everyone just stared at him as if he was lying.

"So this guy is part of the generations of miracles?" A catfaced guy asked. "He couldn't have been a regular."

"Is that right..?" The glasses guy spoke. "Right, Kuroko-Kun?"

"Well.." Kuroko said, tilting his head to a side adorably. "I did play in games."

"Whaaaat?!!" The catfaced guy exclaimed.

"W-Well," Riko tried to compose herself. "Take off y-your shirt."

Tetsu whips off his shirt to reveal his 'nonexistent' six pack. Riko stares at in and sighed deeply.

"Where is Shirogane-Kun?" She asked him and Tetsu nodded his head in my direction.

"Eto..." Tetsu said, scratching the back of his head. "I don't think it's a good thing if we make Sei- I mean, Senri-Kun take off his shirt."

"Why is that?" She said, staring at me so intensely, I could feel sweat start to form on my neck.

"I-I---" I tried to think of an excuse. "IONLYWANTMYFUTUREGIRLFRIENSTOSEEMYBODYFIRST."

"NANI?!?!" Everyone yelled and Tetsu covered his mouth to stifle his laugh.

"That's not an ex-" Riko began to argue with me but I quickly cut in.

"Please-" I made a puppy eye look that works every time on people. Riko's eyes soften and she gave a smile.

"Fine," she said and then talked with the regulars for a bit.

When she turned back to face us, she gave us an announcement.

"We will be having a full court match with the first years vs the second years tomorrow." She announced, and everyone looked at the second years; who tried to look menacing by stretching.

Time Skip~
After Practice~

Tetsu and I decided to go follow Kagami, the scary red head, who was shooting hoops in an abandoned court.

We were standing under the hoop, hoping he would notice us without us speaking up.

"I bet he won't notice us," I said and Tetsu shook his head. "If I'm wrong, I'll treat you out for vanilla shakes."

"Deal," Tetsu said, eyes gleaming a bit. "You are going to lose."

"Huh?" I turned to him. "What do you mean?"

Just at that moment, Kagami misses the hoop and it lands in Tetsu's hands. 'Damn it..'

"When did you get here?" He asked and I replied for the both of us.

"Just now," I said. "It's nice to see you."

"What are you doing here by yourself?" Kuroko asked, passing back the basketball to Kagami.

Kagami catches it easily. "Nothing. I'm not doing anything."

"Is that so?" Kuroko said and looks at him. There was a bit of an eerie silence.

Finally, Kagami spoke. "I was in America until my second year of middle school and I've been appalled ever since I came back by how low the standards are."

I bit my tongue before I could tell him to stop being so stuck up.

"I'm not looking to play basketball for fun," Kagami continued. "I want to play a more serious game that really gets me going."

A small breezed passed and I shivered a bit. Tetsu offers me his jacket and I gladly accepted the warm cloth. 'It smells so good.. Wait.. What..?'

"I heard about the generation of miracles who are supposed to be strong," Kagami said. "You were on that team, weren't you..?"

"I have a guess about how good the others are. People who can succeed smell different from the rest." Kagami spins the basketball on his index finger and tosses to me. "But there is something not right with the both of you."

"You should both smell weak but you.." Kagami stops. "Smell like nothing."

"At least I don't judge others by their smell." I said, finally getting pushed out of my limits. "I wouldn't judge us by that."

"Then show me just how good your 'Generation of Miracles' really is." He taunted us.

I gently put Tetsu's jacket to the ground. "Fine, I'll accept."

"You both could be on the same team since you both smell weak." Kagami said and I huffed.

"Your lost." I shrugged and went to the centre line. "You can start with the ball."

3rd Person's P.O.V.~

Kagami just began to pass Tetsu before Senri smacks the ball out of his hand.

"Wh-Where did you come from?" He exclaims as Tetsu dribbles the ball towards the hoop.

Senri's P.O.V.~

Kagami dashes towards Tetsu, who uses misdirection to pass back at me. I stopped to smirk at Kagami as I shoot a three pointer.

"Hello," I said, bowing my head towards Kagami. "I'm weak person number one and he's weak person number two."

Kagami grunts and picks up his bag. He looks at Tetsu. "You should quit basketball because you have no talent for it."

"I don't accept it," Kuroko said, walking towards Kagami. 'YEAH, BEAT HIM UP!'

"First of all, I love basketball," Kuroko confesses. "And I don't share your opinion."

"I don't care who's strong or weak."

"What did you say?" Kagami looks at him in the eye.

"We," Kuroko points to himself and me. "Are both shadows."
