Senri's P.O.V.~
"I've been waiting for you," Riko announced with her arms crossed as all the first years got onto the roof top. It was right before the Principal's morning assembly the next day as well.
"Are you stupid?" Asked Kagami.
"Is this a duel to the death?" I asked with my eyes gleaming.
"This is right before the morning assembly too." Kuroko added as well.
"The assembly will start in five minutes." The principal's loud voice echoed around due to the speakers.
"You called us here for our club membership forms, right?" I asked Riko, taking out the form that Tetsu got for me the other day.
"Before that," Riko said. "You have something more important to do."
"No matterhow hard you practice," she explains. " 'someday' and 'maybe' aren't good enough. I need to know you have ambitious goals and the will to accomplish them."
'I don't like where this is going.'
"Give me your year, class and name." She announced, waving her hands in the direction of the students ready for the assembly. "Announce your goals here and now."
"If you fail these goals," she warned. "I'll make you strip naked and confess your feelings for the girl you love up here."
"What if you don't have a girl you like?" I asked and Riko looked at me like I was crazy.
"I know you all have to like a girl." She said. "As well, all the second years did it last year."
"What?" Furihata-kun exclaimed. "No one told me about this."
"I mean, I heard about this when they recruited me." Fukuda-kun said. "I thought they were just joking around."
"But I didn't think they'd actually.." Kawahara-Kun started but was cut off by Riko.
"Like I said before, I'm looking for something concrete and reasonably ambitious." Riko said, with a taunting look on her face. "You'll have to do better than 'play my first game' or 'do my best'."
'Should I actually say my reason..?'
"This'll be easy." Kagami retorted. He walked up to the railing and jumped on it. "This isn't even a test."
"Class 1-B, number 5, Kagami Taiga." he yelled from the top of his lungs. There was lots of gasps from the audience underneath. "I will defeat the Generation of Miracles and become the best player in Japan!"
"Good." Riko said as he jumped off and walked back to us like it was nothing. "Who's next? If you don't hurry up, the teachers will get here."
One by one, the first years went until it was just Tetsu and I left.
"Who's next?" She asked and Tetsu 'magically' appears next to her.
"It'll be me." He said and she jumps back a bit. "I'm not good at speaking loudly, so could I use this?"
He pulls out a megaphone out of nowhere.
Before he could speak, the math teacher appeared at the door to the roof. "Hey! The basketball club again?!"
"Crap!" Riko swore. "We were almost finished."
After that, we were scolded by the teacher for a long time on our knees while the assembly played on.
Time Skip~
Tetsu and I decided to go to Maji Burger once again after school.
"I can't believe he got so pissed from that." Kagami complained out loud as he sat down with his pile of hamburgers and sat on me once again.
"I mean," I said. "I didn't even start and Tetsu didn't finish but we both got in trouble too."
Kagami choked on his hamburger for a second then was luckily able to swallow it whole. "You guys again?!?"
He jumps off me and made a quick apology again. "Maybe I should start going somewhere else."
"I mean," Tetsu said. "We aren't allowed on the roof anymore."
"Yeah, Bakagami." I agreed to his statement and Kagami gave me a pissed off look.
"I'm not a baka!" He exclaims and I shrug. "Sure."
"What will we do if we can't join the basketball team.?" Kuroko asked and Kagami smirked.
"That's not going to happen." Kagami replied.
"How do you know?" I asked, cocking my right eyebrow up. "Bakagami."
"Stop calling me that!" He yelled, causing a commotion in the prefecture.
"Be quiet.." I hissed and pulled him back down.
"Oh, by the way," Kagami leans forward. "Why didn't you two go to some big name school like the five other guys.?"
"You good enough to be known as the phantom sixth member." Kagami nods in Tetsu's direction. "And you are good enough to be called the Invisible Emperor."
Kuroko slurps his shake thoughtfully.
"Is there some reason you play basketball?" Kagami pestered on.
"Our middle school's basketball team had one core principle." I recalled out loud. "Winning is everything."
"Instead of teamwork, we had to push the limits of the talents that the Generation of Miracles had to win."
"Nothing could beat us," Tetsu said, with a sad distant look on his face. "But we weren't a team. The other five of them approved of this but we felt like we lacked something important."
"So what?" Kagami gave an annoyed look. "Are you guys going to beat the Generation of Miracles in your own way?"
"That's what we were both thinking." I said, Tetsu nodding along to my words.
"Seriously?" Kagami exclaimed.
"I mean, your words and the coach's words really stuck to me." Said Tetsu. "I'm not so sure about Senri-Kun though."
"Now, my biggest reason to play is trying to make you and our team the best in Japan." He confessed and I nodded along.
"As much as I don't like you," I said, making a vein pop up on his forehead. "Your passion is really something else."
"Is that a compliment?" Kagami muttered under his breath.
"We're not going to try." He said, ignoring my statement after that. "We are going to be the best!"
Tetsu gave Kagami one of his rare smiles and I slapped his back. "That's the spirit~!"
3rd Person's P.O.V.~
The Next Day~
Kagami walked into his classroom, feeling refreshed from his night time sleep when he saw a commotion by his classmates, who were crowding the window. Curious about this commotion, he walks on over to find out what it was himself.
Outside, with huge white chalk written on the ground, the seven words that Senri and Kuroko said to him were there. "We will be the best in Japan."
