(Adelyns POV)

MONDAY NIGHT

8:01 pm:

me: Nathan texted me saying he is on his way now. wish me luck. 

8:03 pm: 

Ethan: you've got this. text me if it goes wrong. 

I sigh and put my phone down. my mom and Adam are not home right now so thats why I got to come home for a couple hours. 

I never dress this way so I am feeling very uncomfortable. I'm hoping Nathan was attracted to the girly innocent part of me and not who I am dressed up as right now. I get pulled away from my thoughts from the door bell ringing. 

I go to open the door and see Nathan standing there smiling from ear to ear. 

"damn." is all he says while looking at me up and down.

"what?"

"you look hot. I'm digging this." fuck. why did I think this would ever work?

"okay whatever can we go?" I ask impatiently. 

"nah I kinda wanna stay home now. are your parents home?" he asks while slowly pushing me back inside my house.

"no, but we can't stay here."

"and why not?" he asks while now aggressively pushing me into the living room. he pushed me on the sofa while jumping on top of me. 

"Nathan stop! why are you doing this??" I screamed at him.

suddenly he stops. he gets off of me and sits up straight placing his head in his hands.

"im so sorry." he starts to sob.

I stay quiet waiting for him to explain.

"I never meant to hurt you." he said barely above a whisper.

"so why did you?" 

"adam was paying me to. I know it was dumb of me to liste-"

"ADAM?" I yelled.

"yes" he whispered. "he obviously has your mother tied around his finger, and he wanted me to harass you into dating me so you could be distracted." 

"distracted from what?" 

"from this."

me and Nathan rush out of my house together. my head shoots up to see where the sound of a basketball bouncing is coming from. I see Ethan aimlessly throwing basketballs at the basket. 

"ETHAN!" I scream trying to get his attention. 

he quickly looks up at me nervously and runs over to me.

"adelyn? I thought y'all were going to a movie? what happened?" he asks glaring at Nathan. 

"long story but basically Nathan got paid by Adam to fake date me and distract me."

"distract you from what?" he asks concerned. 

"cmon." I say dragging him into Nathans car.

"take a left!" I yell to Nathan while looking at the gps on my phone. 

"wait so Adam is basically just a psychopath that was paying your mom to have sex with him but in the end his plan was always to kill her?" Ethan rambles. 

"yes. and I only agreed to the whole sex deal thing because I was stupid enough to listen to him. but the minute I heard about this I tried to drop out of the deal but he threatened to kill me too so thats why I still came over to your house tonight. but I just couldn't do that to you, adelyn." 

"do what?" ethan asks. 

"take advantage of her while her mother is being killed." Ethan's jaw clenches and he stares out the window. I reach over to grab his hand out of nervousness. 

"for all we know she could already be dead by now." I start to sob.

"shh don't think like that Lynny. everything will be fine." Ethan whispers in my ear while pulling me into a hug. 

"I'm calling the cops, I'm right in front of the warehouse they are in." Nathan says. 

Ethan hugs me tighter while Nathan is on the phone. 

we arrived in front of the building and came up with a plan. Nathan is going to pretend I acted up and he took me to the warehouse to be killed too. and thats when the cops will come in when Adam is distracted. 

Nathan tightly grabs my wrist and starts to pull me towards the building.

"be careful Lyn." Ethan grabs my other hand planting a kiss on it.

I give him a small smile and let Nathan drag me away. 

he pulls me inside and I see about 20 women all tied up. Adam wasn't just doing this to my mom. he was doing it to every woman he could get his hands on. 

Nathan coughs and Adam immediately looks up. 

"Nathan what the fuck are you doing here? you were supposed to distract her at her house." Adam yells while coming closer to us. 

"she found out your plan. we have to get rid of her too." Nathan says while staring at Adam. 

"alright alight. go tie her up. hurry." Adam says while walking away but not before saying, "she'll be first." 

I look at Nathan with nothing but fear in my eyes, he squeezes my hand in a comforting way telling me it will be okay. 

he ties me up and Adam calls him over there. Adam aggressively takes Nathan's wrist and ties him up just like the rest of them. 

"what the fuck are you doing? I'm on your team." Nathan yells. 

"I dont trust anyone." Adam simply says. 

he walks over to me and holds a knife right up to my throat gently rubbing it against my skin. 

"you have been a bad girl. maybe if you minded your own damn business you wouldn't have to die today. it was nice knowing you." he says while extending his hand with the knife out getting ready to stab me with it. I shut my eyes until I hear the knife hit the ground. 

I open my eyes to see Ethan tackling him on the ground and the cops running in. I start crying and Adam is being put into handcuffs. 

Ethan comes up to me and unties me immediately engulfing me in a hug. 

"Ethan oh my god. thank you." I say while tightly hugging him back. 

"ill always protect you Lynny." he says while kissing my forehead.
