Chapter 24 - First Week With Buddy

Wednesday - 17th February

I opened my eyes to hear Buddy crying. I groaned as this was the third time in the night. I checked the time and it was 5:04am.
"Great!" I thought.
I decided to get up and go and get a drink from downstairs.
"I'm sorry for waking you up," I heard a squeaky from behind, it was Tom holding Buddy, smiling.
"It's okay, I needed to get a drink anyway," I smiled back, "Have you had much sleep?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I feel guilty because Gi has done most of the night feeds so I thought I'd do this one, let her stay in bed, you know?"
I nodded my head, "Yeah, she did do all the hard work after all,"
"Exactly, and that's why I'm gonna let her have a lie in every day so she can catch up on some rest,"
"That's sweet," I smiled at him.
"Here, take him," Tom gestured Buddy to me.
I put my arms out and I then put my youngest brother on my shoulder. He didn't move an inch while being passed over what shocked me but then again, he has been screaming mayhem all night!!
"Hey, why don't you go back to bed Tom, I can look after Buddy for an hour or two,"
"Are you sure?" He seemed unsure.
"Yeah! You both have been up half the night and Bud has only woke me up once, so it's only fair I do this morning shift,"
"Okay, but you know where I am if you need me," He then kissed me on the head, "Thank you,"
"No problem,"
I watched at Tom walked his sleepy body upstairs.
"Are you still asleep?" I said quietly, looking at him in the mirror. He was in fact asleep. I walked over to the moses basket in the living room and slowly put him down.
I sat on the chair next to the basket and simply took a million pictures of him, he just looked so peaceful and relaxed.

Thursday 18th February 2016

I jumped up by the sound of the doorbell.
"Can you get that please Maddie?" Gi called.
"Sure," I rolled my eyes and sighed as I got up.
I dragged my legs and opened the front door.
It was Georgia and Chickpea Lee.
"Heyyy," Georgia exclaimed, throwing her arms at me and pulling me into a hug. My sleepy ass head was to tired to care,"How are you, my lovely?"
"Tired," I groaned.
"Oh you will be, when Mario was born, no one got sleep for a month," she laughed, "Mom and Dad had to send me and Gi to our Aunt and Uncles because we both needed sleep,"
"Jesus, fingers crossed Bud isn't like that," I laughed, letting both Georgina and Lee in.
"Tom, Gi, Georgina and Lee's here," I called, leading them both into the living room.
Buzz was playing with his toys, "Buzz, look who's here,"
He looked up and crawled over to Georgina and stood up, hands on her knees.
"Hello," she cooed, "Have you been a good boy?"
Georgina picked him up and sat him on her lap, cuddling him.
"How have you been Mad?"
Just as she said that, Tom walked in with a sleeping Buddy.
I smiled at Tom, "I'm good thanks, just at bit stressful at school,"
"Awww, I'm sure you'll be fine, you're extremely bright you know!"
I smiled at her, "Thank you, how have you and Lee been?" I said looking at Lee.
"We've been good thanks, our first scan soon," They both beamed at eachother.
"Really! I'll never forget the day of Buzz and Buddy's first scan. We was both so nervous but also excited,"
"Where's Gi, Tom?" Lee asked.
"I'm not sure, in the bathroom last time I checked,"
Just as Tom said that, we all heard footsteps.
"I'm sorry, I had to clean my top as it had baby sick on it,"
"Gi, don't apologize, it's fine," Georgina told her.
"Thanks,"
"Can I hold the little man?" Georgina asked.
"Of course, hang on,"
Tom walked over to Georgina slowly, watching where he steps as there's toys everywhere, "Here you go," he said as he slowly bent down to give Georgina, Buddy.
"Hello handsome," Georgina kisses his forehead, "How are you?" You could tell she was in love with him, "Guess what? You're gonna have a playmate in a couple of months. You're gonna play together for the rest of your lifes and you two might even argue,"
Tom and Gi laughed at that bit.
Buddy then stirred, moving his arm up and he stretched his legs
"I can't believe how small he is," Lee exclaimed.
We all just admired how small he is.

Friday 19th February 2016

The warmth of the water slapped me in the face. I scrubbed some raspberry scented shampoo into my hair and made sure to wash it all out, I did the same with the strawberry scented conditioner I have. I smiled to myself, as it was so nice to have some time myself, since I've been helping Tom and Gi NONE STOP with Buzz and Buddy.
