The Attackers

From the last chapter...

"I have a suspicion that maybe...It could be possible that you're a..."

"A what?" Bella asked, more curious than ever.

"An other" Gideon replied waiting for her reaction.

"I'm a what?!" Bella exclaimed.

Continuing story...

"I mean...You could not be an other..." He said, unsure what to say.

"Is there a way to test if you're an other?" She asked curiously.

"I...I honestly don't know..." He replied. Then suddenly they heard rustling in the bushes.

"What's that?"Bella asked worriedly. Before he could reply they heard something whizzing in the air. Gideon looked to see that the tree right next to him had a tranquillizer dart in it.

"Run!" He shouted at Bella and grabbed her arm. He dragged her away from the area and heard footsteps behind them. He then heard heaps of tranquillizer darts whizzing past them and picked up his speed.

"Gi...de...on?" Bella said. This caught his attention and he looked towards her to see a tranquillizer dart in her arm. He swiftly picked her up and held her in his arms and she wrapped her arms around his neck. He tried to run away from the attackers but then he felt Bella go limp in his arms, slowing him down. 'No, no, no, no, no!' He thought, panicking, 'I have to protect her from them, I can't let them catch up to me!' He then suddenly felt something metal hit his leg and realized it must be a tranquillizer dart. He then fell to his knees still holding on to Bella and slowly slipped into unconsciousness...
