I Trust Them

Bella's pov:

I spotted Jake and Poppy walking over with trays in their hands, wandering around aimlessly, I called over to them and Jake looked over smiling, bringing Poppy with him.

"Hi Poppy, I'm Bella," I said, reaching out my hand for her to shake. She shook it nervously, she looked around 11 yrs old.

"Poppy is my younger sister," Jake explained, "That's why I was trying to save here earlier."

I nodded, looking at Poppy and giving her a reassuring smile, she smiled back, looking more confident around me now.

"So, you're both ok?" Jake asked Giddeon and me.

"I'm fine, they didn't hurt me," I informed Jake.

Giddeon nodded as if agreeing with me.

"Glad you both are ok," Jake said, sighing with relief.

"Of course we are, after all, I think I can trust these people," I said with confidence.

"You trust them?" Jake asked me, wide-eyed.

"Yeah...I think...maybe they're protecting us, from the government..." I said, "I want to stay."

"You can't be serious," Jake said, "They kidnapped us and brought us here, they almost hurt Poppy!"

"I'm just trying to be positive!" I exclaimed, frustrated with Jake for not trying to hear me out.

Jake sighed, seeming frustrated.

"I get it Bella, but I don't want to risk anything happening to my little sis," He said, "I'm going to escape this place with Poppy, with or without you, pls, reconsider, I don't want anything bad happening to you too."

I sighed, looking across the table at Jake. "I'm sorry, my choice is final, but at least don't do anything reckless, it's risky trying to escape too," I said, "Besides, you should at least stay a while before making a decision, I might reconsider if things seem to be heading South."

Jake nodded, giving in.

"I hope you're right about this," Jake said worriedly.

Bella's relationship with Jake has been slightly decreased but don't worry, there is still potential to be friends and won't greatly change the relationship. There are some good things that will happen going down this path so don't regret your choice because none of them is the "right" choice.
