"Damien?"
"Damien, please." There was panic rushing through us all. The look Marrie had, was strange. Wasn't she just a normal librarian? Was she hiding something? Was there something behind that beige sweater? I had to confront her.
"Take care of Damien, guys. I have to do something." I got up from my crouch position.
"What could possibly be more important than the safety of one of our pack?" Solio asked.
"The safety of all of them!" I snapped back, "Now, if you could excuse me I have something to do." I whipped my hair, and turned around on my heels and walked to Marrie's office.
I could feel the other's judgemental gazes towards me, just by the air.
I slammed open the door. I couldn't see Marrie.
"Marrie!"
No reply.
"MARRIE!"
I went on a rampage. I was pushing down chairs, taking books out of their shelves, tearing sheets of paper. I truly trashed the joint.
"Bonnie?" There was a soft, innocent voice behind me.
I turned around. Marrie.
"How dare you! You see someone struggling and all you can do is stare? What is that!?" I yelled at her, moving closer to her, to show her I was not meant to be played with.
"Bonnie, listen to me. Let me explain."
"Explain what? How you can just let a kid have a seizure without doing anything about it? How you can let a group of kids fend for themselves? Whatever it is, it's not worth my time." It turned back, to walk away.
"It is, please." I spun back towards her. She wasn't there. I looked around.
"Marrie?" Curious, "Quit yanking me, I'm leaving."
"Bonnie. Turn around." Slowly, I did.
She was a wolf. "Oh. My. God." I rushed over to her, in complete shock.
Her eyes were full of innocent, wide open and as green as a leaf. Her fur was 100% black, just like her hair. It was silky smooth, and pouncing with life. She had a group of scratches down her back.
"What happened to your back?" I asked solemnly.
"Whilst I was at the science labs, I was experimented on."
"You were experimented on?"
"I was the first to be tested," She changed back to her human self, "I ran away millions of times, until, I guess, they found other's to test."
"I'm so sorry."
"Don't be. I forced this upon myself. They went to the orphanage I was at, I begged for them to take me. What did I know?"
"How old were you?"
"The same age as you. Fourteen."
"They started pretty late. Why were you at the orphanage?"
"When I was eleven, my whole family died. Apart from my mum. You're probably thinking it was probably her. It was. She was convicted of murder and was sentenced for a lifetime in jail. Since I was 12, I was left without anyone. I never wanted to see my mother again, I knew from the day it happened it was her; she never tried to deny it. From that day, I felt only hatred towards her. She deserved no love because she gave none away."
"I am so sorry," Her story truly got to me.
"It's ok, I'm here now."
"Look, as much as I feel genuinely sorry for you, I still don't see why you couldn't have done something to help us. Is it really that hard to?" Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the others lifting Damien up and start to walk over here.
