Chapter 7: Let's get this straight

Tulane's Pov

We ran back to the cave as fast as we could. I had to get what the headmaster said out of my head, I can not cry again. I am not weak I am strong. I. Am. Strong.

"Hey, Tulane!" I hear panting behind me.

I turn around too quickly and fall backward. I groan and get up, "What?"

"You passed the cave. I've been chasing and calling your name. Didn't you hear me?" He has his hands on his knees panting again.

Avoiding the question I said, "Your kind of slow for the avatar."

He chuckled, "Well I kind of am still recovering from an injury."

I smiled,"Yeah your right. How far did I run past the cave?"

"Not far" we started walking back together.

"May I ask why you couldn't hear me and why you were running so fast?"

I shrugged," I was just thinking. . .About what the headmaster said."

"Did it hurt your feelings when he called you an orphan?" Aang suggested.

"It didn't hurt my feelings it just hurt me a little to hear it aloud. Nobody at school knew I was an orphan and now they do, which means they might feel different about me." I stopped walking still looking at the ground and he also stopped walking.

"Or they might not" Aang said trying to cheer me up.

"When you see me what you see . . . in personality?" He responded tripping over his words a little.

"W-well I see"

"From the cave" I clarifyed.

"Okay, I saw regret, pain-"

"a little girl? Weak, incapable, selfish?" I started walking again and he followed next to me. 

He opened his mouth to speak but it was too late because I had already started to speak," I don't want you or anybody to baby me because of my sob story. I don't cry, but that night I did. I was in a vulnerable state I don't need you guys to baby me because that experience in Hira gave me 'tough skin'. That experience in away told me I can face anything and after that happened we lived on the streets and then with my cousins for a few months. They taught me how to defend myself become more flexible and with a technique they learned. . .chi blocking."

"Wait I think I've heard of that before I think ta-"

I interrupted him, "Wow! I did runway past, we're finally here!" I ran into the cave Aang following not far behind me.

"Kuzon needs parents," I said walking into the cave.

"What do mean?" Katara asked curiously.

"Well, Heidai attacked Aang because he was talking to his girlfriend On Ji" Sokka shot up.

"Way to go buddy!" He congratulated.

I rolled my eyes, "No that's not alright. The headmaster said Kuzon has a parent-teacher conference today."

Sokka scratched his head in confusion, "I thought we were talking about Aang?"

"Kuzon is my cover name" Aang explained to Sokka.

"Oh okay well no worries!" Out of nowhere he pulled out a fake beard and stuck it to his face.

"My name is Wang, Wang fire and this my pregnant wife" he pulled Katara to his side," Saphire." I was laughing so hard that tears came out and I nearly threw up.
