Saturday
7:30 pm.
Lexi looked at the time and smiled. She got off her bed and chose a comfy but formal outfit.
A rosy coral dress with matching stockings.
She headed toward the door but looked at her phone before leaving.Do I leave it?
She answered herself by leaving it behind and walking out the door. She knocked on Jake's door and he immediately answered.
"Ready?"
"Of course."
Jake took her hand and filled the gaps between her fingers with his and walked with her.It was a long walk, but when they arrived, there was only the light of tiki torches and pastel pink and blue lanterns. Lexi was marveled at how beautiful a forest looked in the night hours. Jake only smiled while she was spacing out and freed his hand to sit on a little bench fit for two.
There were trees and flowers everywhere and vines tangled benches. The small amount of light made it seem majestical. Then Lexi noticed a familiar sound: The tranquil sound of water running onto rocks. Her face lit up and she smiled at Jake. He fixed his pastel pink bowtie which matched his tux and got up to claim Lexi's hand again. He walked her to the waterfall which was surrounded by violet, white and pink flowers. She was absolutely stunned. Jake picked a few pink flowers and wove them into a wreath and placed it on Lexi's dark hair. She looked at Jake confused.
"A flower crown for you~" He smiled and made his own with the pink, purple and white flowers. Lexi blushed and grinned. Jake sat on a bench right in front of the scenery of the waterfall and flowers and Lexi sat by him, getting lost in the calming sounds. Jake was admiring the flowers.
Suddenly, Lexi relaxed her head on Jake's shoulder, slowly shutting her heavy eyes.
"Sleepy?"
"Mhm..."
Jake giggled quietly and hugged her. Lexi smiled and blushed a bit and slowly drifted to sleep. Jake yawned and also slept.Lexi woke up and noticed who's shoulder she was laying on and her face turned as red as the roses scattered around the forest. Her surprised expression quickly turned into a smile as soon as Jake's eyes opened. He smiled back at her.
"Good morning, Lex."
"Good morning, flower boy."
"We should head back." Jake got up and again linked hands with Lexi and they both returned home.
As soon as Lexi flopped on her bed, she noticed a pastel blue envelope sealed with a pink heart on her windowsill. Curious, she got up to read the letter.Dear Lexi,
I know you don't know who I am from reading this letter. That's the point. I hope you aren't startled. I want to tell you something important.
I know I haven't known you for long, but I think
I've already fallen for you.
Love, JLexi blushed. Who wrote this? Who would like me? She closed the envelope neatly and stored in her shelf.
