Sick On His Birthday- Raphael

Today Raphael is turning 13 and he will no longer be a kid anymore but a teenager. However, he got Cystic Fibrosis which causes him to get really sick. He woke up experiencing chest pains and wheezing which concerns his bandmates.

Aidan: Hey Raphael, Happy Birthday...

Raphael: No, I feel sick.

Aidan: Really? What's wrong?

Raphael: (coughs)

Aidan: Oh I see, it's time to get up someone's coming.

Raphael: Shawn Mendes?

Aidan: Yup, so let's get ready.

After Aidan left, Shawn Mendes came to the 5sos house. He was a bit worried because one of the kids didn't show up.

Shawn: Hey guys.

Everyone: Hey Shawn!

Shawn: Where's Raphael?

Aidan: He's not feeling well today. We know it's his birthday today but his Cystic Fibrosis causes him to get really sick.

Shawn: Okay, he does have the same birthday as me right?

Thaiyo: We know, do you wanna see him?

Shawn: Yeah I wanna see him.

The kids and Shawn went into the Kids' bedroom revealing their sick oldest brother sleeping.

Aidan: Raphael, wake up Shawn Mendes is here.

Shawn: Rise and shine kiddo.

Raphael: (coughs) (wheezes) (coughs more and then vomits)

Zoe: He vomited!

Shawn: Raphael, what's wrong?

Zoe: He got Cystic Fibrosis and it is csusing Pneumonia.

Shawn: Does he have vest therapy or...?

Thaiyo: Umm...

Zoe: Urgh... Dang it! We left it in Australia.

Shawn: How?

Zoe: When we were moving to Los Angeles 5 months ago, the airport staff doesn't allow any of the vest or oxygen therapy so we left it at home and now this happened.

Luke: Guys, his illness is getting worse and we should take him to the hospital and admit him.

Raphael: Why...(cough) should I... (cough) be... (cough) admitted... (cough).

Aidan: He's in his coughing fit so I should explain what he's talking about. He has always been admitted because of this.

Shawn: Oh so that's why he's scared of the hospital.

Ashton: Guys, into the car we need to take Raphael to the hospital.

They all(including Shawn) went to the car and throughout the ride, Raphael has been vomiting, coughing and wheezing which worries everyone. When they arrived, Ashton admitted the poor 13-year-old because his illness got worse. Soon, the oldest went into the examination room to check if he has Pneumonia or not. After the examination, the doctor came to the waiting room where everyone was waiting and told them the results.

Dr. Lim: So Raphael got Pneumonia due to Cystic Fibrosis. He doesn't have his vest so we put him on vest therapy and hooked him in a ventilator and we'll have to give him Anti-Biotics via IV because it'll kick in fast. So we'll have to turn on the vest therapy every 2 hours and then turn it off again for another 2 hours and the process goes on and on. You can't see him now because he is extremely sick but you can later at night.

Shawn: But it's his birthday today along with mine.

Dr. Lim: You could celebrate tomorrow.

Shawn: Okay.

Dr. Lim: Now I need you to wait here until you're ready to see him.

Zoe: Thank you.

They waited for the next few hours until their names have been called. The doctor lead them to a room where the teenager slept. He is sleeping peacefully with a vest, IV, nasal cannula and oxygen mask. Everyone couldn't believe why he got sick in his 13th birthday. All of them were praying and hoping for Raphael to get better. The next day, he was released and he felt much better but still has mucus in his lungs. They are finally able to celebrate his birthday a day later.
