PoV: Sonic

  I knew I shouldn't have believed I was free, because the second I did I wound up back here.

"I'm going to get us out okay," Shadow was always comforting me.

"... shadow..." It hurt so much to talk.

"I know, I'm not letting them hurt you again," he held my hand.

"... y... you need... to escape... without me... ... They... won't go... after you..." I said ignoring the soreness of my throat.

"I'm not leaving you," he laid down with me over him.

  For once in this place... I felt warm. Shadow had taken care of me... but he was different to me than the others.

--- Flashback ---

  Shadows lips were touching my face all over, it was making me feel really warm. His lips touched mine and... I didn't know what I felt. It was like a jolt, but a good one. He stopped and pressed his forehead against mine. He looked sad... I wanted him to smile.

"He kissed you."

  What's a kiss?

"Pressing your lips against another's. It'll come naturally."

  A kiss... I felt myself leaning in, I decided not to fight it... It felt like the right thing to do. I closed my eyes and I felt something soft against my lips again, Shadows. He looked at me, he didn't like it.

"Yes, he did. Just remember to only do it when you feel warm like this."

  I forced myself up, my insides let like they were being pierced. The stupid gun only fixed my skin, nothing on the inside. My arms were shaking under my weight, but I wanted to hild Shadow.

"Sonic, don't you're still healing," Shadow caught me as I fell and pulled me up to his chest.

"...Sshadow ...please ...go ... witho.. ut me..." he cried not wanting him to be here.

"I'm not leaving you," he hugged me, I did my best to hug him back.

PoV: Shadow

  Sonic was so weak. I hated seeing him like this. I felt his shaking arms holding me, I hated that his arms were shaking. I hated that he was in pain. I growled as I heard taps on the glass. That sound meant hell.

"Mealtime," they brought the kennel in.

Meal?... I remembered Something we found in the files here about Sonic. They would forcefully inject food to his stomach, oh fuck. I need to get him out of here now! I had no choice. The pushed us into the kennel and started walking. I held Sonic and ripped the shackles on my arms and legs off. I placed my inhibitor rings on Sonic for safe keeping and readied myself. One doorway was marked 'exit.'

"Chaos Blast!" I blew the place up, protecting Sonic.

  The kenel disintegrated and most of the walls destroyed. I ignored the now lifeless bodies and ran to the door. Looking for any way out of this hell hole. I ignore the feeling to faint and kept going. I ran out the last door and found grass. We were out and almost free. An island landscape meant we were out at sea with no way back.

"You're kidding," I fell to my knees, "we're on another fucking island!!!"

"You did well to try and escape," the fucking man came back, "but Sonic is my little experiment, you just happened to come along seeing as you would cause another attack."

"Why, why him?" I asked, placing the rings back onto my own body.

"Because he was a hero and breaking him has been the most fun I could ask for," he grinned that nasty grin of his, "Ahahahahaha!"

  Sonic only held me, he was clearly afraid... this man had traumatized him.

"I'm not going to let you hurt him anymore," I growled.

"Be my first, your only option would be living in the jungle," he waved to the evergreen forest.

"Its better than being your experiments," I started carrying Sonic away.

"Just so you know. The moment Sonic is alone, he's going to be brought back here. I don't care what happens to you but Sonic is a prize. An extremely important experiment will be ready for him in 2 weeks time. If you aren't off the island by then we will proceed with said excitement. Understood?"

"Crystal clear," I glared, "Fucking asshole."

"You may call me Professor Eric."

"I'll stick with Fucking Asshole."

  I walked off into the woods. My first goal was to find fresh water and shelter. After that, I needed to fix my broken communicator and call for a boat. Right now, time was of the essence.

  Damn Shadow was so close to escaping. But now there's a bet.

  Now it's a race to get off the island before the next experiment.

Will they escape? Will Sonic suffer another experiment? Will Shadow suffer his first experiment? Will I ever talk like Chris McClain again?
