PoV: Shadow

  I cover my mouth to avoid cursing out in front of Sonic. He was back to just silence. He stopped walking on both legs and only followed me. All the progress we had made was gone in one day. He gathered firewood as I scavenged old parts to make a radio. Once the fire got going I check our net in the creek in hopes that we caught fish. Only one was there.

"Well Sonic looks like we're sharing again," I set it up on a stick and cooked it over the fire.

  He curled up next to me as I cooked. Two days of work without sleep got us into better shape than expected. Beds made from tall grass and leaves, fresh food so long as we caught something, and a cave that's been working as our shelter. If Sonic didn't need so much rest the first 3 days I could focus more on the radio, but one week almost passed and we were close to risking Sonic of more torture. I need to find a radio, and now.

"Sonic," he looked up from his nap. Normally I'd let him sleep, but he needs to eat more than I do, "Dinner, look."

  He didn't want it. I took the first bite, he still did want it. I pulled him on to my lap, he still didn't want any. He just curled up against my chest.

"Sonic please eat. You need your strength so we can get out of here," I held out a small bite for him.

  Only then did he take it. I didn't care of I fed him the entire fish that way, so long as he ate. He did, but he stopped halfway. He kept refusing to take it again.

"Sonic plea-" he placed the fish bite into my mouth, "you just wanted me to eat too?"

  He nodded and hugged me.

"... You... get to... eat... to..." he said.

"Okay," I didn't eat much, I had tried to give most of it to Sonic.

  Even like this, he still cared about others. He slept peacefully, on top of me. It didn't bother me, we both most likely had fleas now and comfort wasn't very important. 8 days left to get off this fucking island, I'll finish collecting my energy and chaos control us as far as I possibly can.
 
--- Morning ---

    The bright light of the sun peeking into the cave opening woke me up. I needed rest, especially since no parts for communication existed here. Chaos Control was our only chance, but the chaos blast from before was keeping my energy low. Today all we were going to do is gather wood and rest. Then I'd chaos control while Sonic slept. It felt nice to have a sorta 'day off' to rest. Sonic enjoyed it, he walked around on his own a little.

"Sonic," he walked over to me and sat down, "We'll be off this island by tomorrow morning."

  He nuzzled against me, "... okay..."

  He spoke do much more, usually to warn me. This time it was different. He was just an answer. No warning, no command, just him. He only did that at dinner before. I collected some fish in the net. We finally caught more than one.

  I made the three fish we caught. Sonic ate an entire fish for a change.

PoV: Sonic
                       
  The moon was high in the sky now. I liked looking at it and the stars.

"Sonic you should be asleep," Shadow called me.

  I walked over to him and sat on his lap. His cheeks looked a little pink, they seemed to only do that sometimes.

"Be careful with how your moving."

  Why?

"You remember how your body heated up before?"

  Yeah. You said that was good.

"If you make Shadow's body heat up you can't fight what happens."

  What will happen?

"Something nice, but also painful."

  Nice and painful? I don't understand.

"It means it's going to hurt, but then it'll get a lot better."

  Okay, I think I understand.

"No you don't, but you will."

"Sonic," Shadow called me again.

"Hm?" I turned to him.

"Go to sleep," he covered my eyes.

"I want... to watch... the stars," I pointed to the sky outside.

"It's bedtime. You can watch them when we get home. Okay?"

"Mmhmm," I curled up against him.

PoV: Shadow

  I waited until Sonic was sound asleep and the fire died out. The only thing I could hear was the wind. I visualized my room now that Tails's house was no longer safe. My house was well hidden, I never even got a bill. I took a deep breath and only took a little extra energy from Sonic.

  This was our only chance, "Chaos Control."
