We rode the taxi in silence. Not the kind of silence that's uncomfortable but the nice kind of silence. I watched the buildings as the taxi moved. Everything to me was and is beautiful. It's the first time that I went out of the country although the start of my vacation was rough, I think it's getting better as the days go by. Especially now, that I gained a friend.

We reached the airport in such a short amount of time. We checked in our bags and waited for our flight.

"Do you want to go and walk? We have about an hour or two to spare." He said.

I nodded and walked around the airport with Chan. "I found the duty free!" I said excited.

But I was gently pulled away, "Let's go window shopping somewhere else!" He said smiling.

"Oh, 0kay." I said. That was weird.

My phone vibrated and I saw that there was a text message.

Unknown Number
Hi, Junie. I know I acted really immature and said a lot of things that I didn't mean. I'm sorry for being so rude and acting like what we had for 3 years was nothing. I had a bad week at work. Is it a good time to call?

I really wasn't going to reply and exited the message app but the sudden call made me instinctively pressed the button.

"Damn it." I muttered under my breath. I wore my earphones.

"Junie?" He asked.

"What?" I asked annoyed and suddenly Chan stole my left earphone. I looked at him and mouthed 'Put it back.'

Chan looked at me like I was crazy and shook his head.

"I really want to say that I'm sorry." He said. "It was a dick move of me to say what I said."

"Yeah, it was." I said firmly and Chan held my phone.

"I owe you a lot- explanations and reasons. You didn't deserve this." He said frustrated while I was busy trying to take back my phone and accidentally pressed Facetime.

"Who are you?" Paul asked Chan.

"If you have the decency and the slightest respect in you for Kathleen, go here to the airport and apologize in person. We have an hour to spare before our flight." Chan said clearly annoyed and pressed the end call.

I slapped his arm, "Ow!"

"Serves you right." I said. "Who told you could take my phone and talk to my ex?" I asked.

"Friends do that." He said. "He thinks lowly of you."

"How do you know that?" I asked rolling my eyes as I grabbed my phone from his hand.

"People tend to take advantage of nice people like you." He looked at me. "Let me ask you one thing." He asked.

"What?"

"Did he break up with you through phone?"

"He did." I said.

He shook his head, "You're too nice, Junie."

I sighed, "It's not like I had a choice."

"There's always a choice." He answered as we walked to the waiting area.

I was silent. I didn't know what to say but all I know was that I don't feel good.

"It's bad to keep it all in, you know?" He said.

"You sure do know a lot." I said.

"I've had my fair share." He said. "What did he tell you to say sorry? That he cheated on you?"

"No." I said. "He basically told me to not ruin anything and that if he had known that I was invited, he wouldn't have agreed."

"That's a light thing."

"Theres more." I said.

"There is?"

"So, I told him he should take me out of the guest list and I'll pay them back and he said 'No need. We both know you can't afford it anyways.'"

"That fu-"

I hushed his lips and looked at the person walking towards us. Chan looked at where I was looking.

"Junie." Paul said.

I stood up and Chan followed. "Paul." I said.

"I'm sorry for what I said." Paul reached out and held my hand.

I heard a slap and I flinched. The hands that were holding mine were warm, soft and big. I looked at it and saw that it was Chan's.

"Who are you?" Paul asked glaring at Chan.

"None of your business." Chan said.

"It is. Junie, who is that?" Paul asked me.

"His name is Chan." I said sarcastically.

"What's he to you?" Paul asked.

"Again, not your business." Chan said.

"Is this how you're getting over me, Junie? A temporary, a one night stand?" Paul asked smirking.

"A one night stand?" Chan scoffed. "We're dating. What's it to you? Aren't you getting married to her best friend?"

"You're coming with me, Junie." Paul said reaching for my hand only to get his hand slapped again by Chan.

"Hands off my girlfriend."
