"How was your run?" Royce asked as I Came back in.
"It was good, helps to clear my head you know...and it doesn't help that I'm away from Raven, I know you don't want to hear it bro...sorry."
He shook his head, "Nah...it's definitely something I'll have to get use to but I get it man...it always sucks when I have to be away from Alexia, and I hate to break it to you but it only gets worse as you spend more time together...the absolute worst though is once you two mark one another." He chuckled, "Dude I promise it's like hell being away from your mate once you're marked."
"You don't say." I tried to sound completely unfazed...but I was feeling it.
"Yeah...shit seriously sucks."
I nodded, "I'm gonna go take a nap." I said, we had been running patrols all night and mixed with my personal run I was actually feeling super tired, it could also do with being away from mate.
Hey don't forget we have to meet with the council tonight, They've already approved you entering the pack but I have to see if they'll approve my sister being there too."
I nodded and left. Once I made it to the room assigned to me I let out a heavy sigh, Not only was I missing my mate like crazy, but now I had to worry about her potentially being Shipped back to our old pack.
I felt like I couldn't catch a break.
I took off my shirt and threw it before I kicked off my pants as I got ready to get into the bed...I was too tired to shower and I knew the maids here would change out the sheets anyways.
A knock sounded and I went to answer it.
"Fuck." I sounded under my breath as I remembered I wasn't wearing a shirt and I had tossed it on the otherside of the room out of frustration of being away from my mate.
I sighed and opened the door a crack and peaked my head out, "What's up?" I asked casually.
Royce gave me a look that told me he thought I was acting weird but he didn't comment on it. "Just got off the phone with my Dad...we both thought it'd help Ray's case if he came up and spoke on behalf of her, just ya know...wanted to give you a heads up."
I tensed and he must've noticed.
He smirked. "Hey bro don't worry, Dad doesn't know about you and Ray yet, plus you're mates no biggie right?" He said before he walked away.
"B-but I mean isn't it out of his way...it'd take him a least a day to get here...not trying to tell you how to do your job or anything bro but I really don't want to delay this any longer."
He nodded, "I get it, and dude you're my Beta, your opinion matters...as luck would have it Dad's up here already on business, so he'll be here in a couple of hours."
I closed the door, and walked over to the bed, I picked up a pillow before I hopped into the bed. I hugged the pillow against my chest and closed my eyes, I tried not to think of Alpha Roy's arrival, or the council ruling Raven needed to go home...I sighed heavily as I tried to clear my head.
My wolf whined as he projected Raven's face into the forefront of my mind.
"I miss her too boy." I said.
I left that thought lingering as I finally drifted off to sleep.
