Chapter 5
My alarm clock started playing music at 6:20. I slowly got out of bed, stretching as I hit the floor. I grabbed my clothes I already put out off my dresser and headed to my bathroom to get ready. Once I was dressed, I put on some light blush with a few coats of mascara. I threw on my Birkenstocks as well as some bracelets and earrings. I had soccer practice right after after school so I threw a t-shirt with some soccer shorts in my soccer bag. I also added a pair of socks and an extra t-shirt to change into after practice. I turned off my lights and headed downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning, sweetie." My mom said as she was sitting on the island drinking coffee.
"Good morning mom." I replied, smiling.
I grabbed a protein bar from the pantry and added that to my soccer bag. I grabbed myself a granola bar for this morning along with an apple and a banana.
"Did you see if Elliot was up this morning?" My mom asked
"No, I didn't." I replied
"Oh well. I guess he'll be late for school." My mom said, laughing.
"I'm up!" Elliot yelled from the top of the foyer.
My mom and I just shook our heads as he came running down the stairs.
"I don't have any time for breakfast this morning," Elliot said, "I'm just going to grab something with you this morning Nicky."
"Okay. I'm going to leave in a few." I said
I filled up my Yeti for school with ice water and stuck that in my backpack along with a pre-made salad and a few other snacks for my lunch. A few minutes later, Elliot and I were heading to the garage to hop into our cars.
"I'll see you there in about ten minutes." I said as I turned the key to my Jeep.
"Okay. See ya, sis." Elliot said as he was backing out of the garage and down our driveway.
I followed Elliot through the one lane streets in our neighborhood until we reached OI coffee. We both parked near the front of the building and headed inside.
"Oh wow. I haven't seen you in a while." Lawrence said, motioning to Elliot.
Elliot laughed as I headed to the register to order my usual along with a blueberry muffin. I paid for my order and headed to the pick-up sign while Elliot ordered a hot coffee and a bacon, egg and cheese croissant. Once our drinks and food were ready we headed towards the door.
"Have a good day, my favorite twins." Lawrence said as we were walking out.
"You too, Lawrence." We said in unison.
About ten minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of school.
"Hey, Nic!" Lily yelled as I parked my car.
"What's up Lil?" I said as I grabbed my breakfast and my backpack. I locked my Jeep and waited for Lily to grab her stuff.
We walked towards Elliot's truck and we waited for him to grab all of his school stuff. The three of us headed into the back entrance of the school.
We had about ten minutes before we have to head up to English so we head to the cafe area so we could all eat our breakfast. As we were walking in, I spotted Brady so I went over and asked if he wanted to sit with us.
"Yeah, that would be great." He said, smiling and grabbing all of his school things.
We both walked back over to the lounge chairs and sat down. I sat on a two-seater with Brady and Lily and Elliot sat across from us.
