Chapter 11

Taylor and I entered our coach's house at a little before seven. When we rang the doorbell, Coach Tom's wife answered the door.

"Hey girls! Head into the living room and make yourself at home. Tom will be out of his office in a few," Mrs. Wilson said, gesturing us into the house.

"Thanks!" We replied as we headed into their living room. We saw that the dining room had already been set up with plates and cups, ready for dinner. Everyone from our team arrived around seven and we started to carb up. We all headed towards the kitchen and filled our plates with all types of pasta and headed towards the dining room to eat before we watched our film.

"So as you all know we will be playing in the championship game on Saturday. Like I said on Tuesday, I want you all at the sports complex at 1:30 so that we have time to talk, put our equipment on and warm up before the big game. We're going to watch our last match against Raleigh Soccer Club so we can take some notes on how they play. I have highlighted some of the main plays I want to focus on, but this should be relatively fun," He said as we all finished our dinners and threw our trash away.

We all headed into the basement and took a seat around the room as he played our last match. Around 8 o'clock we finished watching the film and had a quick talk about what we need to improve on for this next game. Coach also had a quick pep-talk for the rest of the week and another reminder for this next game. My team and I all said our goodbyes and Taylor and I were heading back to my house around 8:30.

"I have a really good feeling we're going to great," I said, getting into Taylor's car.

"Honestly, me too. We definitely have the skill, we just need to want it more than them. I don't know about the rest of the team, but I definitely do. It's the last time we will all be playing together." She said

"Yeah, that's so true. It hasn't hit me yet that I'm not going to play with the rest of us ever again." I said

"I'm really trying not to think about it, but I just can't believe it. I also can't believe that we're all leaving next year and moving away from here." She said

"Yeah, at least we won't be that far away from each other, only 9.6 miles away." I replied

"Ah, I love it. I don't know what I would do if we were going farther away from each other." She said

"Me too. You can come and hang out with Lily and I and vice versa. It's going to be so fun," I said as she pulled into my driveway.

"I know, right? Bye Nicky." She said

I pulled open the door handle. "Goodnight Tay. Let's win us this championship."

"We got this!" She yelled as she backed out of my drive.

I headed up the steps to my driveway and unlocked the front door to let myself inside.

Elliot was in the kitchen making popcorn while Lily was on the couch scrolling through movies.

"Hey guys, where's mom?" I asked, plopping on the couch next to Lily.

"She's next door." Elliot replied from the kitchen.

"We were waiting for you to so we could watch Sixteen Candles," Lily replied

"Well I kind of have something to tell both of you," I replied as Elliot joined us on the couch.

They both signaled for me to continue. "Well, I'm actually dating someone now. Before you get all defensive, Elliot, I didn't hide it from you for that long. It actually just happened today," I finished.
