Chapter 12
I woke up to my alarm going off around 8 o'clock. It allowed me plenty of time to change and grab something to eat before Brady came over at 9. I left my mom a note, letting her know that I was going to the beach to run, it was something that I did very often so I knew she wouldn't mind. I sent Lily a text letting her know that I would be out for a little while. Odds are that she wouldn't even be awake by the time I come back and if she was, Elliot and her could use a little time to figure out what's going on with them and everything else.
When I finished my banana, I heard a knock at the door.
"Good morning," I said, opening the door for Brady.
"Good morning, beautiful," He replied, landing a light kiss on my cheek.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked him.
"As ready as I'll ever be," He replied, laughing.
"What does that mean?" I asked, locking the front door.
"I don't run much," He said, "I actually haven't ran since it was required for gym class."
"You'll be fine. We won't do too much today," I said, unlocking my Jeep.
"I mean I'll do it if it means that I can spend more time with my girl," He said, as I started backing down my drive.
My breath hitched when I heard the words "my girl." I could definitely get used to hearing those words.
"Oh stop it." I said, as I turned down the street that lead to the pier.
"So, how many miles are we going to run?" He asked
"I was thinking about four. Two there and the same back," I replied
"Damn girl, you're trying to kill me," He said as I pulled my Jeep into a parking space.
"Why would I want to kill you? Especially when I could do this," I said as I leaned over and placed my hands on each side of his face. He gave me a smiled filled with dimples and I pressed my lips to his, slowly so that I could savor this moment. He deepened the kiss with intensity. I intwined my hands in his hair, pulling him closer. When we pulled away, our chests were rising heavily that even more identified the passion we had for each other.
"Wow, my girl knows how to give one hell of a kiss," He said, pressing his lips to my cheek.
"You have to stop with these comments. We're never going to get out of the car if you keep saying these things to me," I said, fixing his hair.
"I'm okay with that, especially if it keeps me from running and I get to kiss you."
"Yeah, well how about if you run with me and keep up with me, I will buy you breakfast and kiss you some more."
"That sounds fair, but one more," He said as he pulled me into him once more.
When he got out of the car, he pulled off his shirt and threw it back in my car. He readjusted his shorts waistband and he caught me staring at his extremely toned abs.
"You like what you see?" He asked
"You made it seem like you've never worked out a day in your life," I said.
"I just don't run. My old house had a built in gym in the basement and Shane and I would lift everyday after school," He said as he joined me and we started walking towards the sand.
"Well, I'm happy I get to enjoy the view," I said, laughing as he threw his arm around my shoulders.
"I get to enjoy the view everyday when I look at you," He said.
