You were scrolling through your phone absently, seated on a park bench facing the setting sun. Suddenly, someone hugged you around the neck from behind, making you shriek and jump so badly you almost dropped your phone.

"It's just me," a familiar voice mumbled in your ear.

Breathing hard, you glared at your friend and secret crush, Belarus, as she joined you on the bench.

"What the heck was that for?" you snapped. "You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"You should be more aware of your surroundings," she countered, frowning at you. "I could have been a kidnapper or a murderer, or even a rapist."

"I'm not so sure you're not one of those first two," you muttered.

She raised her eyebrows. "Well, thanks for at least believing I'm not a rapist, (Y/N)."

"I was teasing, Belarus."

"I know. But my point is the same: pay better attention. I don't want something to happen to you."

You began blushing for no good reason. "S-since when do you care if something happens to me?"

"Since we first met."

You frowned slightly. "Why?"

"Because I like you," she growled. "Is that a problem?"

You stared for a moment, then broke into an idiotic grin.

"What?" she asked suspiciously.

"I like you too, Belarus," you told her, wrapping your arms around her in a tight hug.

She squinted at you briefly, then pulled you closer and kissed your lips without warning.
