"There are two kinds of Forgiveness, when you forgive someone and you are willing to give them another chance, and the second when you forgive them and move on."
Nick forgave people to easily, which resulted to him being walked on by every second person, including girls. They would cheat on him and he would keep giving them chances. Chances, chances are so strange, when someone can hurt us so badly, for example cheat on us; that means we weren't enough; we weren't enough and they needed more, but some people will give that person chance after chance, until eventually they realize they aren't going to change. We can forgive someone so easily, if we have enough love for them. It amazes me that Nick could do that, but on another hand I was the exact opposite, I would take my grudges with me to my grave. I don't see why we can forgive someone when they hurt us, yes everybody deserves a second chance. But 3rd? 4th? 5th? No. That's not right, not in anyway.
The dinner date with the Brethwell's was the second best night of my life. Ever. I smiled for the first time in a really really long time because of Nick. The food was ready and let me tell you, there was a lot. It was all placed on an marble island that was full to the top. The kitchen was themed brown marble, oak tree wood and elegant steel. It was magnifacent.
After Gen and I made small talk for about 10 minutes about exams and where she's going to study for college, Greg shouted above all of us and said, "And the food is served! Bon appetite!"
As we went to fetch our food that looked as if it had come out of a cook book, I stood behind Nick. He put his hand infront of him to signal 'Ladies first' so I walked infront of him.
"Pasta is the best" he whispered into the back of my neck.
"I will take your word for it" and giggled. Everybody was infront of us laughing and dishing up their food. Gen had such a nice laugh no wonder Shaun was in love with her. You could see by how he looked at her.
"So where's your dad?" He asked
"My parents are divorced, he got remarried to some girl named Claudia about a year back" I replied as I picked up a spoon of pumpkin and put in on my crystal white plate that had patterns on them every few centimeters. The Brethwell's were rich, but they weren't the type to shove it in your face.
"Girl?" He said laughing while putting his eyebrow up signaling he was confused and scooping up some corn.
"Ya, she's only about 5 years older than me" giving him the funniest laugh ever.
He laughed back and said "How old are you then?"
"45" I replied sarcastically while laughing as I picked up a piece of tender steak from the steel tray and put it on my plate.
"Oh so she's 51?" He replied as equally with sarcasm and laughing at the same time.
"I'm 15 doofus!" I said while laughing like a school girl. He made me feel happy.
"When's your birthday?"
"The 21th of August"
"So actually you're 15 turning 16 in a few months"
"Yes" I said giggling.
"What school do you go to?"
"Why do you ask so many questions?" I said turning around smiling. I realized then that everybody in the room had left and was already down by the enormous table eating and socializing. I looked down at my plate that only had a piece of steak and a spoon of pumpkin while Nick's only had a piece of chicken and mashed potato.
"Again, I highly recommend the pasta" He said.
"Better be the best then" I say back. I was trying to be flirty but my lack of experience and my nerves were not really helping with my attempt.
I walked over to the island and picked up the spoon and took a huge scoop of pasta and slammed it on my plate.
He saw it was a challenge and decided to take more than me.
Our little game was interrupted by Greg coming in.
"What you two love birds doing in here?!" He playfully shouted.
"No Greg" Nick laughed.
Greg put his plate in the sink and picked up a bottle of red wine and walked out with it.
I sat down on one of the bar chairs that spun around by the bar that was parallel to the kitchen and put my plate down. Nick followed me there and looked at me and smiled again. His eyes were so beautiful, they held so much pain but the beauty over-belated it. That was the start if this star crossed love.
We both finished eating, but neither of us finished the amounts of pasta we took. We just sat there talking about anything and everything.
