I heard in the distance that my name was being called but I couldn't make out who it was that was calling me, I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't realize that the person calling me would eventually go looking for me and find me kissing the boy I just met. I didn't quite realize that how outgoing the action was until I really started thinking about it. It was the first time I ever did anything outgoing in my entire life.

"Farrar?" I heard again. "Where are you dear?" When I heard that I knew it wasn't my mom but I could hear it was a female so I realized that it was properly Sharon, and I didn't think I could handle the embarrassment of her finding me making out with her son, whom I just met merely hours ago, though it felt like more, it felt that I knew since childhood, almost like this just from a younger age. I would've loved that, coming to these dinner parties every weekend, seeing Nick on Sunday evenings. It would've been amazing.

I heard the foot steps getting closer, and as much as I didn't want to I pulled away. Nick had this smile on his face that not even a monster could wipe off. It made me feel so warm inside, it boosted my confidence, the only ripples I were creating were good ones.

"Ahh Farrar, I found you, your mom said she wants to leave soon so you should get ready." Sharon said with a smile and then turned out the door. I still can't believe she smoked, I wonder if her family knew? It wasn't my place to tell them so pushed the urge back.

I looked back at Nick, who was still smiling like a 5 year old boy. At the time I didn't think I would see him again soon, and then if I ever did, it would be a funny story to think back on. I looked up at the the clock on the wall, 10:29. Wow, it was late. I didn't really know what she meant by 'get ready' cause I didn't bring anything besides my phone which should be in my back pocket, so I just carried on doing what I was doing before, which was standing awkwardly next to Nick not quite sure what to do.

I hated that feeling of awkwardness, it always haunted me because I was a shy girl. It literally followed me everywhere, every time I met anybody new.

I didn't know what to do so I kinda just stood with my hands in my pocket and looked around.

"Farrar?!" I heard from a distance. I decided to turn and walk to the kitchen before my mom started looking for me. Just as I turned Nick grabbed my wrist and whispered,

"So what does this mean?" He smiled and giggled.

I was put on the spot and I had to think of something so I left him with a cliffhanger and replied,

"Whatever you want it to." And smirked.

I walked out the room and turned to the kitchen island where my mom was. I tapped her on the shoulder.

"Why you so red, Farrar? I realized that my blushing was obviously caused from my attempt to flirt with Nick, that didn't work so well.

"I don't know mom." I dismiss her. I'm not close with my mom so I wouldn't feel comftable telling her I have a crush on her friends son, and besides I'm not allowed a boyfriend.

My mom stood up and walked to the lounge and found Shaun and Gen watching tv and tapped Shaun on the shoulder, immediately he got up started fixing his collar. Gen must've felt him move his hand from her shoulder because she turned around and started walkng around the navy blue couch. He was such a gentleman, so sweet he would be an amazing brother, I could imagine him 'interviewing' a boy who is taking you to the movies or some place for a date, the thought made me giggle slightly. He started talking to my mom,

"I hope you enjoyed dinner ma'am and I really hope you had a great time." He said with a smile.

"Thank you Shaun, you're a lovely boy, I sound like an old lady." She replied, she did sound like an old lady but it was sweet.
