Today was Monday which meant a new start of the week in hell. MountRidge High School was almost as bad as meeting family that you havent seen for over a year you just have to replace your grandmother with tarts who wear about a ton of make-up - regardless that they dont need it. And replace your grandfather with a really smoking hot boy with a pierced lip and youve pretty much got my entire highschool, of course - like in every other school, you get the other groups. In mine you got the nerdy ones, but regardless they were still pretty popular, then you got the part animals, now these were mainly girls who every weekend either threw a party or went to one and somehow for every party they manage to get their hands on cheap liqour, I dont know how and I dont want to know either. The third group was literally just the left overs, like the people who didnt really have a place and within the group you got like mini groups and they usually consisted of about 3-7 people no more, no less and when you entered the third group there was no leaving. The last group is a group that has a bunch of girls who are either super sporty or super skinny, no inbetween. Now these girls manage to make everybody's life a living hell, including mine.
On this particular monday my mother had to leave for a work conference and it was a long drive and so she was sleeping over for one night which meant I was alone in the house because my brother would be staying at my dad's house-which I was very happy with. My brother was already 19 and graduated. He was working in a printing business and was doing pretty good but then the CEO was ripping off and the whole business shut down. My brother-Riley was usually a party animal but after he graduated something just clicked and he started to settle down. He's got dark hair and I have to say he's pretty good looking. Since we lived in Ohio and the conference was being held in Michigan - another state she had to trust me with keeping the house held together. My mom is a marine biologist, which is why I dont understand why she moved to Ohio as its inland. She goes on a conference at least 7 times a year, and me being me - a teenager - does not have a crazy and wild party but rather sits in my pajamas and watches Teen Wolf when my parents are away.
Fortunately my school doesnt confirm with your parents if you are sick or not, so it makes it very easy to ditch, but most days my mom drops me off in the car which contridicts it.
On this very miserable monday, my mother dropped me at school said goodbye and drove off. I stood infront of my schools building, just staring at what was a head of me.
After a few minutes I realised that people were beggining to stare at me and then I realized that there was a girl standing in the middle of a pathway with a bag swung over one shoulder and in jeans and a a tank top randomly staring at the sky and decided that it might be a good idea to move.
So I took steady steps until I reached a staircase and took two steps at a time until I got to the top. I pushed open the glass doors and headed to my friend that i spotted and then I saw that she was talking to a relatively cute boy, and stood a few meters away not to interupt anything. She was beautiful, really. She was super skinny but curvy at the same time and had super long legs. Her face was really pretty too, she had long brown hair that went up to the end of her spine and it was naturally curly but not frizzy. She could pull any look off, wether it was badass or girly- she could do it. I would kill to be Sabrina.
After a couple minutes she turned away and he started walking in the opposite direction and she looked at me and did her usual sound after she talks to a boy.
"Eeeeekkkkkk" Sabrina screamed while walking over to me and doing hand gestures.
"Who was that?" I asked very curiously. I didnt actually see his face.
"Its Brett from English." She replied while walking slightly ahead of me. Then it hit me Brett. The guy who got extremely hot in a very short amount of time. And remembered that he was the guy was making out with somebody in the janitors locker, but I didnt dare to say that to Sabrina.
Now I love high school gossip as much as the next girl, but I didnt spread it. I was more of a listener. Since my few friends I had werent exactly in with the popular people I didnt really hear alot of it.
I caught up to Sabrina and decided to turn the corner and make a stop at my locker and then I got a heart attack because this thing has never happened before.
... I had gotten flowers.
Now as ive already tolded you about the girls who mangae to ruin your life, well they were standing right opposite my locker, and considering that they've never actually take note of my existance I decided that to you them that I was the girl who awkwardly got flowers at school would be slightly embarrassing. Don't get me wrong, who ever sent me flowers were without a doubt a sweet but I didnt actually think that it could be real.
Then the possibility of the flowers being sent from the girls standing opposite would be very likely as they have never been there before and maybe this is just some sick game they are playing and they standing there waitng to see what the lame girls face would be as she thought she got flowers from a real living human.
And then I also thought that they could be from Nick. The thought made me warm inside and smile down at my converse, I mean I did tell him what school I came to so there was a possibility.
With that I decided to give in and walk up and see who they were from.
"Ooo, whats that and who is it from?" Sabrina asked while smirking.
I walked up and leaned down to pick the sun flowers up - my favourite.
They were wrapped up delicately in silver tissue paper and looked they were picked this morning. As I held the flowers close to me, I found the black and white polkadot card laid underneath :
Have a lovely day!
Mom.
On one hand I was happy that it wasn't the girls that I would have made fun of me for getting my hopes up, and then on the other I was crushed underneath because it wasn't from Nick. I had wanted them to be so I could say that I finally found a boy who had semi-interest in me, but sadly I obviously didn't.
Then I felt my phone buzz in my pocket..
I grabbed it out and clicked the lock button. It said,
"061 274 7777
Hey there Dukey :) "And then it hit me, Nick called me Dukey. It was from him. My face immediately lit up like a sun rising in the morning sky. I looked up and bit my lip. Sabrina knew something was up.
(Hope you like it Xx)
