A Familiar Way (Sequel to The Disaster of Kalos)

Chapter Five

"Wait, Lysandre is your what?!?" Clemont asked in disbelief. "And he's alive?!?"

"My adoptive father," Emma sighed. "And yes, he is still alive. Half of his body is a machine though."

"So, the explosion of his lair didn't kill him," Ash muttered. "And now he's a cyborg and wants to take you back?"

"That's the gist of it," Emma replied, petting Mimi's head.

"This is a lot of information to take in," Looker replied, suddenly looking exhausted. "But if Lysandre is still alive-"

"And  a cyborg," Bonnie cut in.

"And a cyborg," Looker continued, rubbing his eyes. "Then we-no, Kalos- is in grave danger."

Silence washed over the campsite as everyone looked worriedly at each other.

"I can't believe that bastard is still alive."

Everyone turned to see Alain folding his arms and bouncing his leg impatiently.

"Alain?" Prof. Sycamore asked.

"I thought that I would be rid of him after the Zygarde incident," Alain growled. "I was moving on. Getting my own Key Stone and Mega Stone. Traveling around and working for someone who I actually trusted. And now, five years later, he turns out to be alive, a cyborg, and the adoptive father of my friend!"

"Look Alain," Serena sighed, staring into the fire. "We've all been hurt by Lysandre, some more than others. However, we will find a way to get rid of him once and for all."

Alain let a small smile crawl up his face.

"And we'll make sure that that asshole stays dead!" Mairin piped up, earning a playful shove from Alain.

"But as a cyborg, plus with his Pokemon, he's extremely powerful," Emma brought up. "I tried to knock him out, but at the last second, he turned around, grabbed the metal bar I was holding, and lifted me up into the air using only his robotic arm."

"Then how did you escape?" Nix asked.

"I kicked him in the face and gave him a bloody nose," Emma replied.

The others just nodded at her before Prof. Sycamore stood up again.

"Well, I think that we should strike them now," he stated.

"Now?" Korrina asked. "Why?"

"I think I understand," Mairin piped up. "It's just Lysandre and his four Admins, right? We should strike before they gather more followers."

"But how are we going to do that?" Looker asked. "We don't even know where they are."

"I do," Emma stated, standing up. "They fixed up their lair in Geosenge Town. That's where they took me."

"So, I think that we should sneak in and gain information," Ash thought out loud. "Then, get the information out to people who we know can help and get rid of Team Flare once and for all."

"Isn't that kind of dangerous?" Clemont asked. 

"Yeah, but that's why it's the best idea yet," Bonnie replied, smiling up at her brother.

"Let's think this through," Looker said, pulling out a large piece of paper and a pencil. "So, we know that Lysandre is alive and with his four Admins, and they are all in Geosenge Town." He began drawing. "Do you all have Holo Casters?"

The others surrounded him and nodded. 

"Good," Looker said before turning back to the paper. "So, here's the plan. Ash, you, Alain, and Nix will fly to their lair and pretend to join them. Clemont, Prof. Sycamore, and Bonnie will sneak around to the back and disable the security while the rest of us sneak in. Once we're inside, Mairin and Emma will run off and try to find two of the Admins and take them out, while Serena, Korrina, and I will search for the other two Admins and take them out. Once we're done with them, we will meet up and try to take out Lysandre. Got it?"
