Chapter 16

The explosion was heard throughout the whole town, even at the palace. Takuto was shocked as he saw by the window.

'Isn't that the place where they're investigating?!' Takuto thought. He nervously looked and couldn't help but to feel anxious.

He still didn't know what would be the blonde princess's reaction if she knew about it.

Fortunately, the soldiers and Kai were safe by explosion as they quickly hid behind the trees and boulders.

Kai took a quick glance and saw Aichi on the ground heavily injured, fortunately he didn't lose any parts by the explosion, or it would be the worst thing ever.

Morikawa was laughing as he looked at them, and he kicked Aichi's body. "You're all weak! You can never win against the greatest Morikawa!"

"Tch..." Kai stood up and took out his sword. "I can still defeat you, you know that?"

"In your dreams, Kai. I'm stronger than you all, I'll win and take Princess Kourin!"

"You'll... never..." Aichi suddenly stood up, though he was getting out of balance. He breathed heavily and looked at Morikawa. There were blood and wounds all over his body, and he looked already weak. "You'll never... get her..."

Morikawa only laughed at him, "How? You're too weak to fi-"

But then, Aichi threw a punch at Morikawa. Morikawa fell down to the ground but he blasted power on Aichi. Aichi then fell down once again, coughing up blood.

"Haha! You can't stop me, you damned knight!" Morikawa mocked the young knight and kicked his face.

"Morikawa!" Kai then ran to attack Morikawa, yet he failed to do so when Morikawa blasted on him.

"Nobody can stop me!!!" Morikawa exclaimed, laughing crazily. "Princess Kourin is now mine!"

But Aichi doesn't seem to give up, he stood up and threw a rock on Morikawa, hitting him on his head.

"Ouch!" Morikawa winced.

"I said... She'll never be yours!" Aichi coughed and took his sword. Then, with his final strength he ran to Morikawa and stabbed him.

Morikawa got shocked and hacked up blood. He blasted a weak magic to Aichi and fell down.

Aichi smiled as he watched Morikawa on the ground and he went unconscious.

"Aichi, Aichi!" The blonde princess called, she cried as she ran out of the palace.

"Your majesty, calm down!" The servants were trying to calm her down yet the princess won't seem to be.

"No! I have to see Aichi!" Kourin exclaimed.

"But princess, it's dangerous-"

"I don't care! I need to see him!"

As Kourin was about to walk away, she found Kai and other soldiers. Kourin saw how badly injured they were. Kourin went to Kai and held him.

"What happened to you?! Where's Aichi?!" Kourin yelled.

"H-he's at the carriage..." Kai said, "Where are the doctors?"

"I-I'll call right away!" Kourin replied, "Servants! Call the doctors!"

"Yes, your majesty!"

Aichi woke up that evening, his body felt really weak and he suddenly felt a migraine.

"Ow..." Aichi looked around and found out that he's in his and Kourin's room.

"Aichi, you're awake!" He heard someone speak and saw Kourin running towards him.

Kourin embraced Aichi tightly, both of them fell on the bed. Kourin was on top of him.

"P-Princess! C-calm down!" Aichi said as he held Kourin's shoulders.

"I'm glad! You're awake, Aichi! I'm sorry I was so rude to you! Please forgive me, Aichi!" Kourin cried.

"P-Princess..." Aichi looked at her and gave an assuring smile. "It's alright, princess. I forgive you."

"R-really?" Kourin looked back at him, her face filled with tears and she was sobbing.

Aichi then wiped her tears away and caressed her face. "Princess, I'll always protect you and take care of you. And I'll forgive you for everything that you've done, so please don't cry."

"Aichi..." Kourin sniffed and then smiled at him. She went closer to him and their noses touched, Aichi embraced her back and they kissed.

"I love you so much, Aichi. I really do." Kourin whispered.

"I love you too, and I'm sorry for making you worry." Aichi replied and Kourin shook her head.

They both gave a smile to each other, knowing that they're going to be in peace and no one will bother them anymore.

The next day, Aichi woke up and found Kourin lying next to him, her head on top of his chest. He couldn't help but to feel flustered as his face turned red.

His body still felt weak due to the encounter he had with Morikawa, but he'll recover after some time.

Kourin woke up right after, and she looked at Aichi. They both smiled at each other and she embraced him.

"Good morning, Aichi." Kourin said.

Aichi chuckled and ran his fingers on Kourin's long blonde hair. "Good morning too, Kourin."

"So you're calling me by my name now, huh?" Kourin giggled.

"Well, I wanted to be closer to you. Will you give me permission?" Aichi asked.

Kourin then nodded, "Yes, I'll give you my permission."

Aichi grinned and felt happy. He couldn't help but to kiss Kourin, and he went to go on top of her.

"I'm glad that you're going to be my wife," he said.

"I'm glad too, Aichi. You're going to be the best husband I'll ever have." Kourin smiled at him.

As they heard the bell rings, they realized it was already breakfast. Kourin helped Aichi to stand and they went to eat their breakfast.
