it takes an entire year to get calum sober. within that year, the two become practically inseparable.

only after an additional two month does calum reveal the second step, leaving his group of 'friends'.

ashton shrugs lightly, it shouldn't be too difficult, he thinks. calum is already almost a total stranger to the group, unless they need money.

but, upon beginning the task, ashton discovers that it's just as difficult as the first step. the group don't let calum go. they threaten him continuously until ashton decides to respond to them.

the realize that calum isn't alone anymore, he has friends to keep him safe and after another few months, they let him go.
