"Hyuga?" He said looking back at Hinata.
"I'm Hinata's father." He stated as Hinata looked at him.
"If you're here to apologize I think it's 18 years too late." Sasuke said as if he knew what she was thinking.
"I'm not here to apologize, I just need to speak to her." He said as he looked at Hinata who nodded.
They walked downstairs to where Hinata set the table.
Do you want me to stay here? Sasuke signed as she nodded.
"Hinata asked me to stay so whatever you say to her, you say to me also."
"Very well then."
"Hinata, I need you to do me a favor." He said.
Sasuke opened his mouth to speak only to be stopped by the wave of his hand.
"Before you say anything, let me finish. This is for her to decide anyways."
"My company is going downhill and I need my only heir which is you."
"Need her for what?"
"To get married." He said as Sasuke's face became annoyed.
"Think about this Hinata, you'd be doing your old man a favor." He held her hand as she looked down.
This was her father.
Someone she didn't know but secretly wished she did. Her mother never wanted to speak of why he left or of him for that matter. Feeling his touch for the first time was...different.
"I'm sorry." They both turned to look at Sasuke who had spoken up.
"What are you sorry for young man? It's my daughter's decision."
Daughter.
It was the first time other than her mom that referred her to that name.
Can my father actually be a good man?
"She's marrying me." He said as Hinata saw his lips move and read him perfectly.
She began turning red as she knew she loved Sasuke but hadn't confessed to him yet.
"I'm sorry?" Her father looked shocked.
"Hinata, is this true?" He asked as they began to focus on her.
She looked around nervously as she didn't know how to respond.
I do love Sasuke-kun, but he never did propose. I didn't even get a chance to confess.
"Of course we are. Right, Hinata?" He said as Hiashi stood up.
"What's your name, young man?" He asked.
"Sasuke Uchiha."
"Ah, I know about you."
"You do?" Hinata finally spoke.
"My beautiful daughter, are you really going to marry a liar?" He said as Sasuke began to sweat.
"What are you talking about? What is he talking about Sasuke-kun?" Hinata began to start speaking clearly.
"Hinata-dear, this "fiancé" of yours is simply using you for someone else." He said as her eyes grew wide.
No, that can't be. He confessed to me.
"Sasuke-kun."She said looking at him as his eyes were starting to look towards the floor.
"He made a promise with that friend of yours Sakura, he didn't like that she moved on from their relationship. He was trying to get her back through you or am I wrong, Uchiha?"
He didn't say anything but simply nodded his head in confirmation.
"So, all of this was a lie? You never really did love me." Hinata bit her lip to stop herself from crying.
"No, that's not-." He was cut off by Hiashi who placed his hands on top of Hinata's shoulders.
"Hinata, I may not have been the best father to you and I don't have an excuse for what I have done but please trust me on this." He said as she took his hands off her shoulders.
"He's manipulating you into thinking he loves you, don't let yourself get more hurt than you already are. Don't you remember all those terrible things he said to you?" A mischievous smile appeared on his face.
"Thank you, father. Your kindness and worrying for me has made me believed that you're not a bad man as mother said you'd be." She said.
She turned to Sasuke while he slowly lifted up his face. Their eyes met as she placed her hand on his cheek.
"Take care of yourself, Sasuke-kun." She said as she went to go pack her things.
