This episode to me is fairly balanced. Out of 10 I'll give it a 5. I get what they were trying to do but they didn't do a very good job.
First of all, Beast Boy's voice is the way it usually is. Finally!
So Beast Boy got pranked by Cyborg, he wants revenge and tries to prank him back but accidentally pranks Starfire.
When Starfire asks why it happened Beast Boy could have simply told her it was an accident, because it was. He did not intend to provoke nor harm her. But she does have a right to be mad.
This episode doesn't build up to much because Beast Boy is still pulling pranks on others. They are not as aggressive as this one but I get that you can't expect everyone to change over night.
Also the fact that Beast Boy only tried to talk it out with one villain in just one episode is kind of ridiculous just to build up for the moral of the episode.
But the scene when Beast Boy and Starfire make up is a really tender.
I would like to mention that Beast Boy is genuinely a nice guy. He's nice to everyone, wants everybody to be happy and he expects to be treated as he treats others.
Whatever he gives he wants to get back and vice versa.
Meaning when someone hurts him he may feel the need to hurt them back. Since Cyborg pranked Beast Boy he wanted to prank him back and this give and take thing will build up to a really intense episode later on in the series. So it's not a completely useless episode, although Robin's puns in during the battle don't help one bit. But it touched on an important thing that I feel. That just because we are good at something or are talented it doesn't mean that we're better than anyone else we're better going to encounter.
A small part of thought it fore-shadowed a bit of BIRTHMARK and THE PROPHECY because Slade was responsible for the fire in both episodes. Well in this one he forced them to use it. While in the others he surrounds Raven with fire. (Not sure if that fire was caused by Trigon, though).
We learn that Slade can manipulate people into using their powers for evil even if they believe to be wrong, sometimes even to point of blackmailing them - Robin, Terra and Raven are good examples.
Sorry for such a short review for this episode.
