Many fans are divided by this episode, some love it, some hate it.
I love it. It's so creative and weird, I feel like it was an episode that Tim Burton would have worked on.I like the way the episode starts because we don't know where they are and we can see that they're tied up and we know that it can't be good. We also know the characters a little better now, so it's a really interesting episode for any fan to watch. Yes they are teenagers but they don't go to school so it's very exciting to see them what they would be like in school.
The only thing that bothered me in this episode is that if there's someone with an accent they have to be a villain or at least ridiculed.
My belief is that the writers thought that we need to go as crazy as possible with this episode.
I'm getting strong Pink Floyd vibes from this episode.
In England children used to be abused and get beatings by teachers. In the episode it's innocently played as a joke but it really used to be like that.
Pink Floyd actually wrote a song about it Another brick on the wall and ironically Robin is the first one to break free and break through the wall to escape. The dialogue in this episode is so good and well thought out. Robin hands over an out cold Beast Boy to Starfire and says "Here's your hallpass" Not one where I would burst out laughing but it works.
I wish they had more songs with funny chase scenes like in this episode.
